Just wanted to find out what your lengths are for your driver, fairway woods and hybrids. Thanks.

Mine is:

Driver - 44.75"

3 wood - 42.75"

5 wood - 42"

I am 5'9" just FYI. Thanks.

I'm also 5'9" and my arms are a tad long for my height.

My driver length is 44" or 44 3/4" depends on how you measure it. If you measure straight down the shaft to the end of the heel it is a spot on 44". But it is 1" under Ping standard, which for the G drivers is 45.75". I've been told that Ping measures from the butt to the center of the face at the bottom. Either way, my driver is shorter than most on the course.

I don't play a 3 wood.

I do play a strong 5 wood at a standard 42". With this club I can have 17* of loft (4wood) but without the extra 1/2" most 4 woods have. I think the G10s are actually 43". The 5+ wood has been a great club for me, even if it is somewhat antiquated at 5 years old (2004 Callaway Big Bertha). It is right at the limit of least loft and most shaft length that I can comfortably hit off the deck. Off the tee it is just as long as a 3 wood for me.

I play one hybrid, a 23* DWS that is 40". That's a tad longer than most other companies' 4 hybrids. But I don't have a problem with it. If the lie is awkward I'll grip down 1/2" or maybe even an inch. I can do a lot of things with this club. I can move the ball back a touch and lower the trajectory for more distance or move it up and sweep the ball high. Given it's versatility, I don't have a problem covering the 6* gap between it and my 17* wood.

    • I enjoyed the A-B-C-D scramble we did at Kittyhawk before it shut down. Yes. The point was to meet the other members and get the season kicked off. Nobody took it too seriously. At least with that group, cheating wasn't a big issue.  As the D part of A-B-C-D, I enjoyed getting to play with one of the Association's top players. One year I played with the city champ. Man could he hit a ball.  It probably isn't something I'd want to do more than once a year, but it has its place.

    • This year the 2 person scramble at Garland was flighted after 36 holes.  The final 18 holes determined the winner.  This was more fair since most people really wouldn't know what flight they would be in.
