I'm looking to buy new irons even though I still like my Taylormade r7's. They have a regular flex which isn't right for me anymore. Then I thought I could buy project x shafts from ebay and have them put on my r7's.

My question is would this be a good choice and if so how much do places charge to reshaft a set of irons.

I think its tough for anyone to say if they would be good for you. You need to give more information about what your looking for in a shaft and what kind of ball flight, stiffness,etc you are looking for before we give you a good opinion.
They are great shafts and many people recommend them, but they may not be right for you.

If you buy them on Ebay i would think that most shops would charge no more than $10 per club to reshaft them for you.

I have a high ball flight with a little draw and I'm looking for a shaft that I can controll with a lower ball flight.

I would think that Project X with a 5.5 flex would do the trick for you. They are butt and tip stiff with will help you get the ball a lower but maintaining that draw

Don't Dynamic Golds have a lower ball flight than Project X Flighted? I remember a discussion about DG's vs. PX's and someone brought this up.

Most shops will (should) charge atleast $25 per club if they have to pull your shafts and reinsert new shafts that you brought in ($35 if you want grips on your new shafts). It'll be far more expensive than you think.

well, i know this is not the norm, but i have a guy that will reshaft an 8 club set for a total of $40. the $40 includes changing the shafts, i.e. pull/reinstall (which I provide), changing(installing) the new grips (which i provide), and he checks the lofts, lie, etc. he does a really good job too. Gary Koch is one of his customers too, so he must know what hes doing. but most shops charge MUCH more than this...

i believe the chain stores like Golfsmith will charge you $20 per club, plus $2 per grip install, but if you buy one of their frequent customer cards for $50 (Golfsmith), they will do it for half of those prices ($10 per club, and the grips will be free for up to 28 grip installs)

I forgot about re-gripping the clubs. Those taylor made grips aren't the easiest to save if thats what you have on there now, so i would think 15-20 dollars per club wouldn't be a bad price.

Yes DG TT has lower flight than Project X. However, I didn't find any change in distance. Only thing I realized is that with Project x the ball launches higher, flattens out during the ball flight. I personally preferred DG TT because the shaft felt more lively but I wouldn't have a problem using Project x as well.

i have project x 6.0 shafts on my irons and they give me a nice mid to high flight and the ball just seems to cut through wind better than any other irons ive hit.
