What is the lowest of the low out there without sacrificing distance? I am looking to put a club together for windy conditions? I have a high launch and a mid launch with the mid launch being really inconsistant so I am going to turn that one into a low launch.

I am using a red diamana in my high launch and am quite happy with the results.

So... any suggestions for a low launch shaft?

Anyone ever used a Diamana White Board? Grafalloy Pro Launch Red?

I'd go for the White Board, especially since you already have the Red Board. I tried the ProLaunch Red and it didn't launch as low as the White Board.

I agree, the pro launch red is a great low launch shaft. It's basically the same as the original Graffaloy ProLite that won so many tournaments in the 90s.

Whiteboard is a good shaft. The Prolaunch Red only comes ~65 grams. The Diamana comes in weights ranging from 60 to 84 grams. Heavier shafts always launch lower and play stiffer.

When it gets windy I pull out my 13* and it goes 260 of the tee. Try a low lofted fairway wood with a stiff shaft or a .350 tip shaft.

Well... I am in Florida so I dont think many will get a 3 wood to go 260 off the tee. Sea level distances are definately different than mountain distances.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

Retail for that, yes. But one time use shaft pulls go for quite a bit less. Some 200, or if you find the right guys, not a whole lot,

Like my Tour burner has an ALTUS in it, they are pretty hard to find, so it was worth the 300 total i paid for the head and shaft. My tour launch 3 wood set me back 125, 50 for the head, 75 for the shaft, a great great steal, then i bought a X Con6 Pull for 60 bucks brand new. You just gotta watch for the good deals. As for the protopype, they go for around 40 bucks, there was one on WRX made for Vijay, it said, "NVijay" on it. went for 70 i think..

    • In the old days, pre-2020, "playing to your handicap" meant a net score about equal to the Course Rating.  that led to problems when people played against each other from different tees, people playing tees with a lower CR would generally shoot lower scores.  Course Handicaps were adjusted for each competition to make it even, usually lowering the course handicap for the "forward tee" players. So now if you "play to your handicap", the (68.4-72) term means your score will be even par, no matter which tees you play from.  No adjustment needed for people playing from different tees.  Look at your example, the guy shoots 82 every time, his Course Handicap of 10 gives him an even par net score every time.
