I don't know of any, but when I wanted to get some ideas late last summer when deciding whether to replace my shafts, I followed up on the certified places identified on the Royal Precision website, for example, (a clubfitter is a club fitter) and did some searching of "clubmakers" and "clubfitters" and had good luck coming up with names and numbers, some with websites, most without.

Plus even the larger retail places or pros at courses will have the PING cart, as an example, and be able to fit her very nicely with those or other clubs. The PING fitting gives a benchmark that can be translated to other products, as would any other fitting with a particular brand, I don't think I'd worry too much about that. Even if tied to a brand, good fitting clubs will perform fine.

thank you for the above 2 posts and will check into the suggestions, which, as i said, is rather confusing because i am dealing with my 8 yo who will say one things one way one day and another another day, if you know what i mean. she would often use her sister's much longer clubs and because she can hit further with them, even the driver, she says she want longer clubs, because to her that means the world:). i know it is not great for her posture, but kids are kids.

and, because the better, long clubs have better feel and contact and possibly more forgiving, she would trade the length issue for those factors, i think. she just grips down and go with them.

further, she seems to grow rather fast, taller for her age for sure, which adds to my confusion... at 8, she is using her sister's 10 yo clubs already.

here is her recent swing with her current wedge.

thanks and regards.

Nice swing. If she's swinging like that, why not take her to a pro who has some experience teaching youngsters. Lessons are always good and he or she would likely have some good suggestions as to clubs and how far to go at her age with any extensive fitting.

she has a great swing and she looks very athletic. One thing that I did with my son when he was your daughters age is sign him with his friends into group golf lessons, so it felt more a social gathering than golf, after lesson we would go out for a bite to eat or ice cream and it was a fun time.

my 8 year old daughter is involved with the First Tee program and she loves it and has been too 4 sessions already, you should have a program in your area or simple call the First Tee to find the nearest location to you.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
