I believe Axel is a pretty normal name in Sweden or wherever she's from. Probably a tribute to a relative of some sort.

I have a theory about why the name "Charlie" was picked. Charlie Sifford was the first African-American on the PGA tour - the "Jackie Robinson" of golf, so to speak.

Tiger's big into the history and traditions of the game of golf, and is very aware of upon whose shoulders he stands to help get him to where he is now.
