Cameron workshop question

I am very happy with my scotty cameron. Ive been using it for about 6 months now. The only thing I am not happy with is the glare those things put off. I get glare off of the toe bumper right in my face sometimes and its very distracting. If there is anything about the putter i would change, its the finish. I have also experiemented with putting some black electrical tape on the bumpers and that has not really worked for me, either.

Will the cameron shop re-inish a studio select in that kind of charcoal color they put on the red x mallet? I think that would be best. Any clue about how it would cost?

A: We will be offering one alternate finish, which will be Pro-Platinum. We feel that this is a good, low maintenance alternative for someone looking for a glare resistant finish that does not need to be oiled. Note: In changing the finish of the TEi3 model putters to Pro Platinum the entire face of the putter is plated to the Pro Platinum finish. This is how it was originally done for the "Tour Only" models and is Scotty's preferred choice in both appearance and performance .

I'm not sure that I've seen this finish up close before....I agree with you in that the Charcoal Mist finish is great and would be useful. I'm a little surprised he doesn't offer a darker finish option.

Oh thanks..I just want to reduce the glare in a way im comfortable with. I dont know the ins and outs of putter finishes so im tentitive about sending it out aftermarket to get the work done. If the platinum finish is the only one available then ill just do that.

You might be able to contact Scotty Cameron Referb shop with your questions. I had my Studio design redone a year ago and it cost around 180.00 It is basically a new putter when you get it back. Unfortunately it takes around 6 weeks

Whoa..$180 bucks for a full restoration or just getting the finish changed? If it costs $180 just to get a different finish i think ill just have to deal with the glare..

Which finish do you have now?

From the "restoration page": ***Putters with an original Black Pearl finish can only be restored with Charcoal Mist or Pro Platinum. The Custom Shop does not offer the Black Pearl refinishing option. Looks like Charcoal Mist is an option, at least from Black Pearl...... Worth a phone call for sure.
