Hey Everyone,

I need some expert advice and am on the verge of going to the my local golfsmith or golf galaxy but wanted to throw this out to the forum first. Right now, my set of irons have True Temper x100. Recently, while at a golf show, I was in the testing area and hit with Nike's Victory Red forged clubs that have the S300 shafts. Now in my humble opinion, forged clubs are very similar in play and dont vary much from another, as I have Taylormade forged irons. When I hit the S300's, it just felt like a smoother without much force. Now, hopefully it's just not the Victory Red's I was hitting because they felt real nice. I think it may be the shafts and I wanted to get people's takes on it. I just think the x100's are really stiff.
With my current irons, I average about 160 with my 7 iron. I'm not even going to get into swing speeds right now because its been 3 months since i've really swung a club and in those 3 months, ive lost 35 pounds. I know its above 100, but I wont know how accurate until I professionally tested.
If it's the clubs, then i'm gonna have a real dilemma on my hands because although ive been a non Nike fan, the Victory Red's are really some of the nicest clubs i've swung.
Thanks in advance to everyone...

From what I've heard a 160 yard 7 iron would definitely put you into a stiff rather than an X, unless you have a very fast transition. Your yardage and SS are similar to mine and I play stiff just fine. When I have hit X100s they are too stiff for my liking.

Use the S300, most pros use X100 shafts.

I think even KJ Choi uses S300 in his irons.

Make a nice n' easy swing, not try to kill the ball and screw up with contact
