Focus on your putting. Unless you have lied, you can hit a golf ball decent. I've played a lot fo tourny golf and lose focus on the greens. Focus on your putting, which lets your swing free up. The first tee is a manic nightmare for me, so I like to take a 3/4 swing and just think balance. Again, hardest shot of the day will e your first, so once your past that let your game take over.

I hope this isn't too late, but remember to not worry about others in your group. Also i want you to play ONE SHOT AT A TIME, and dont worry about what happened on the last hole, or about what could happen on the next hole. Keep your mind in the present, and dont walk around looking like you were just convicted of murder, have fun and smile.

Ouch.
Everyone who has played in tournament golf knows that you're gonna get a rude awakening.
You just seriously have to keep your head up and forget about that tournament.
Mentally, it doesn't look like you're that good, no offense. If you went down after the double, then you need to work on letting holes go.
I was in the same boat as you early this summer.
I shot 84 and an 87 before I knew I had some serious work to do.
Now, I'm around par in my tournaments and I'm ready to win.
You'll get there soon. Give it a few more events. Good luck, dude. Everyone is behind you here.

A lot of people have already said just play your game but I would also just recommend staying in your own little world on the course. Talk to your caddy the entire day, watch your playing partners shots to make sure they are in bounds and then focus on your own shots. And most of all, just keep it one shot at a time. Oh, have fun too but that other stuff is if you plan on winning :)

An 80 was last place in an amateur tournament?! That's a pretty strong field!

I would agree with this statement...local pro tournaments have higher scores for last place. What kind of tournament are you playing in?
