I am looking for a new set of wedges and was curious as to what online equipment retailer everyone holds in the highest regard. Who has the best deals out there?

I almost purchase all of my new equipment from TGW.com. Their prices have typically been the best I have found in short searches, and their listed prices are the same price as the "special add to cart" prices at gppgolf.com prices.

I also have used many of the large stores, edwinwatts, austads, etc...

I find it is usually better to go with a larger store when purchasing new equipment, along with finding quality used equipment that is accurately described.

Best thing to do, especially if you know exactly what you want, is to do a simple google search and look at all of them and find the best price. Chances are they will all be within $5 of each other, but you may find that one store that has it cheaper. I have found great deals at TGW, Golf Galaxy, and e-bay stores. It just depends on what you want that day and who has the best price. I will add I had no complaints with TGW or Golf Galaxy when I bought from them.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

For the best deals, I have to say RockBottomGolf.com is consistently among the lowest prices (that's not including eBay). For selection, I would have to say TGW.com is the best. I also like Golfsmith.com and edwinwatts.com, but when I'm looking to actually buy something it usually comes down to Rock Bottom, TGW or eBay.

If you are looking for this years stuff, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between all of them, but I have found good deals on last years stuff from all of the three big guys, Edwin Watts, Golfsmith and TGW. Maybe the best deals from Games People Play and Golf Galaxy.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

gppgolf.com has tgw by around $10 on every wedge. They have all major brands under $100 for wedges. Cleveland, Titleist, Callaway. If the golf show wasn't going to be next weekend I would've probably ordered this years vokeys for $99.

Then both sites have the same flat rate shipping price of $6.99. I have dealt with gppgolf a lot and have never had a problem. You can even get $10 if you become a fan on facebook.

They also have great prices on the callaway tour i and ix balls and the new bridgestone b330 rx i did buy some of these.

To be honest, if you know exactly what you want, you're not going to beat the deals you find on ebay. I've been looking at getting the new Taylor Made Tour Preferred irons, which retail for $899 everywhere, and I can get them on ebay for $594 for either 3-PW or 4-AW.

E-bay scares me becuase of the large knock off market.

I agree, and suspect that a very large percentage of the "new" goods sold on ebay are counterfeit. I've done a lot of business in China, and every time I go there (6-8 times a year) I am blown away by how prevalent counterfeit golf gear is all over the country and how good those knock-offs look. Callaway seems to be the most counterfeited brand in the markets there, but I've seen a lot of Nike, TaylorMade, and even some Scotty Cameron.

BTW, there is some knock-off gear there that is actually original - factories who produce for the name brands will sometimes run "shadow shifts" where the factory claims a number of clubheads are scrap but instead use workers either after hours or in a another location to assemble them into clubs and then sell them into the black market. Oh, and every time I'm on a flight back from China I'll see a few people in the check-in line with several boxes of clubs, and a couple times I've struck up a conversation with them and find they're bringing them back to the US to sell on ebay. And that's just the casual people who were in China on other business - I can't imagine how prevalent this is for people who are making their living doing this. From what I've seen, I won't buy clubs on ebay - I'd rather pay a retailer a discounted but higher price.

I agree... you'll likely not beat deals found on ebay. But, personally, there is a certain amount I'm willing to pay for shopping with an authorized retailer.

GPP Golf routinely has some killer deals. One example being TaylorMade Burner TP balls brand new with a free hat deal for $12. eBay doesn't even come close to that deal. Even Tour Preferred irons from GPP are (or were recently) on sale for $100-$150 than the $899 price every else has. Keep in mind since they're an authorized dealer you can custom spec your clubs as well! And it's all guaranteed as being legit. I've recently found another site that gets a lot of positive feedback, has free shipping and no tax. Authorized seller and can do custom orders. It's hard to beat their NORMAL pricing. They don't really sell much other than clubs though. So far they have been great to deal with and I just placed an order Monday.... I won't advertise for them until they've proven to me to be legit when the whole thing is said and done as I've only placed the order and haven't gotten a chance to review anything more. I placed an order for a new TaylorMade Z TP wedge custom length/lie with Rifle Spinner shaft and Winn G8 grip for $99 shipped.

I say Ebay. Ive bought several clubs that were brand new for $70 or less. I recently won an Ebay auction for new a Ping Tour black nickel 58* wedge. Winning bid: $66. Thats about half what of what list price is.
