These are the kind of response that are just pointless... you have no idea about the club so you just say its a POS... if you have an educated opinion... state it... if not... keep your mouth shut.

Has anyone played these?

They had the same type of promotion last season. My friend bought a Hagen driver and got two hybrids. He loaned me a hybrid to demo, and played the other hybrid and driver.

Long story short: None of the 3 clubs remain in play. I hated the hybrid, gave it back and he eventually sold all 3 clubs on Craigslist. If you can, try before you buy. Hagen equipment (in my experience) tends to be entry level stuff. Your $200 would be better spent on last year models of some better branded stuff. Or, a good club fitter can build you a club or two for that loot. I just remembered another Hagen experience. One of the guys on our Myrtle trip (a beginner) hit his Hagen hybrid every shot. He finally snapped the head off on a tee shot. I don't know if it was because of an inferior shaft, or an inferior swing. As always, YMMV.

As Mr3Putt has already said, "Try before you buy." It's very good advice. Most Dicks Sporting Goods have a cool launch monitor/simulation thing, so I'd hit the clubs in there if I were you.

I got the same deal on Maxfli A10 woods. $200 for the driver and 2 free woods or hybrids (I went with the woods). They were definitely more entry level clubs than I have now (I actually still carry the 3W!), but I cannot say anything bad about them. They just weren't as good as some OEM clubs. Great value though.

I have a Walter Hagen sand wedge and pair of shoes and my dad has a Hagen bag. Quality-wise, I cannot say anything bad about them. The wedge is forged and it's not as soft as a Mizuno or Callaway wedge, but what is? It's a solid wedge. My dad loves his bag. As for the shoes, they were really nice. Felt better than my Foot Joys actually. In my experience, Hagen products are made to a very high quality. I'm not sure if they are as good as an OEM club, though. For the price though, you should definitely look at them. Try the driver and woods/hybrids before you buy. You might not like the feel, trajectory, etc. (The NV is a low launch shaft, so if you hit a low ball, it could be an issue.)

Good luck.

$200 seems a bit expensive for that driver. I can't say I've ever hit it, but you can now get last years drivers (which are basically as good as this years drivers) for that same price at Dick's (or lots of other retailers). In some cases you can get nice drivers for even less than $200. When it comes down to it you need to play the driver (and everything else) that is best for you and your game and no one on this forum can tell you what is best for you - you need to test out different models and find the one YOU like the feel and performance of best. I know this can sometimes be hard to do at a Dick's or other retailer because of limited demo area, but this is the only way to find what is really best. You might find you really like the Hagan best over a $500 Callaway or you might find you like the Nike Sumo 2 5900 best for $200. A big key when looking at equipment is to go with an open mind and go with what really feels best (that you are willing to pay for). Sometimes people go in with predjudices against or for a certail brand and this ends up affecting their decision instead of what was really the best.

Good luck. There is a lot of great equipment out there and you'll be giving up very little (in most cases you'll be giving up nothing) by going with a model of driver that is 1-3 years old (this is true of most golf equipment). Find what best fits you and your wallet and go from there.

I'm not sure if you are looking at this club, or just a deal on a driver.

I noticed Golfsmith had one of their Snake Eyes drivers online for $50 here: http://www.golfsmith.com/products/RC..._with_Graphite I'm not sure if this is a mistake, as it is listed in the fairway wood section and the same club is in the driver section for $150. Still, they have it listed so they should honor it.

I do know Snake Eyes are good clubs. This club is being discontinued, so I don't know if you can get a matching fairway wood, but at $50 you just about can't go wrong for a driver.

I bought the WH AWS 4 hybrid and loved it so much that I went and bought the 2 and 3 hybrid. Ive hit my brothers Nike slingshot hybrid and my buddies Taylormade burner hybrid and I can HONESTLY say I prefer my WH AWS hybrids. Im glad I saw this thread as I think I might go ahead and buy the driver just so I can have some back up hybrids. Again, I absolutely LOVE the hybrids but have never tried the driver. They are without a doubt the most consistent clubs in my bag!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

A little while ago I got on a launch monitor with the driver I have now, and the Alidla nv shaft was one of the front runners suggested for me.

I accually went and hit the hybrid, which I accually liked alot better (and hit better) than my titleist 503h with the exact same shaft, aldila nv 85stiff.

I guess I figure $200 for three clubs is a worthy gamble. They also have the same shafts recommended for my swing, so if I hate them at least I'd have new shafts for around the normal price. A selling point specifically good for me, anyway.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Again, thanks for all the feedback.

Just picked them up. Figured for $200 I couldn't lose. I guess they are made for Dick's by Nicklous golf.

I did hit them in the golf simulator again, and they accually felt really good. Here is what I have so far:

Changing the weights didn't seem to change the ball flight much at all. (which is ok because I have always believed in changing my swing, not weights)

The driver carried 270 regularly (something like 30 out of 35 swings) with an average 106 clubhead speed. It sets up really well for me, and the balance felt ok, too. The pro told me I would get another 10-15 yds if it was outside, (is this true?) but it will be several months before I will be able to test that out. The shaft is Aldila NV 65 stiff for driver, 75 stiff for the 3 wood, and 85 stiff for the 3i hybrid.

I didn't hit the 3 wood as much, but the 15 swings or so seemed on par with the driver. Good balance, set up, and ballflight for my swing. The ones I hit well (haven't swung a club in about 3 months) went around 240-250 with the roll, off the deck.

The hybrid I liked alot better, and hit alot better, than my Titleist 503h with the exact same shaft. I hit it around 220-230 and straight from the first to the last. I really liked the balance on the hybrid. ( I would have gone with a 2i hybrid instead of the 3 wood, but they didn't have one in a stiff flex)

So far it seems like a great deal that fits me real well. I won't be totally convinced untill I hit them outside off real grass, but like I said, for $200...

the walter hagen line is a cheap product. they are halfway decent clubs overall, more on the quantity than the quality side of clubs though. great for a beginner or someone looking to build a secondary set, maybe even get a club or two as a temporary fix before stepping up to a more expensive product. if you need a new driver or hybrid(s) or wood(s), then i say go for it. if you expect big things out of them you are wrong, but you will get a few decent products for the money you pay.

I don't think Nicklaus Golf makes the Walter Hagen products no longer. I had emailed Nicklaus Golf about this a while back and got emails back from a couple of their sources that stated this.

I own a 2007 WH AWS driver and a 2008 WH AWS 5 wood. Both are top-notch clubs! I have never been as consistent off the tee than when I hit the Hagen. I hit the 5 wood crisply every time. So, today, I went to Dicks and took advantage of the "buy 1 get 2 free deal". I bought the Hagen driver, 3 wood and 5 wood. These don't have the adjustable weights, but I always left the weights in the neutral configuration anyway on the driver and 5 wood. I don't know why some people are so down on clubs that aren't expensive. They should try any club before forming an opinion. I've hit my old Hagen clubs for 2 seasons and never, never had any trouble with them. As far as can tell, they are a quality club. And, I don't have a "thing" against expensive clubs...my irons are Ping G10's. I just buy the best clubs that feel right to me that I can afford. These Hagen's fit the bill.

I had a full set of Walter Hagen clubs last year, these are manufactured by Adams golf for Dick's. I really liked the way they played.
