I have Titleist 990's, and have had them for almost 8yrs. I like them alot but I'm in need of new grips. Yes, you are correct, other than washing them, I've NEVER gotten new grips. Horrible, I know. I like the cord grips, but also am open to others. Does anyone have any grip recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

I play New Decade multi compound from Golf Pride on my irons and woods, and I play the tour velvet on my wedges. http://www.golfpride.com/grips/cord.aspx
I love them and couldn't ask for more.

I've played only one style of Winn grip. I loved them when the weather was nice, but they were horrible when they got just a little bit of moisture on them. Slippery and slimey, and a towel barely helped at all. They almost had to air dry.

I'm sure they are good, though. Alot of people play them. I just had a bad experiance, but check them out, too.

ProT TC-02 feels like and looks similar to the Golf Pride DD2 at about half the cost. I'm gripping all my new builds with them right now. The black and reds.

these winn grips http://www.golfsmith.com/products/57...ther_Grip-_Tan

beware! they will wear very quickly. if you play 3 rounds and practice 2 or 3 times per week, your grips will only last one summer.

they feel so soft though. i think they are wroth it despite the durablity

I've tried all kinds of grips, and have found that I don't have a preference on grip type. However, I'm finding that grip thickness is huge. I have large hands and have just discovered that extra thick grips really help my control of the club. With standard grips, my swing gets too "handsy". When others pick up my clubs they make baseball bat jokes, but I really like the extra thick grips.

I second or third the new decades. I used to play tour velvets and tried the new decade recently. Absolutely in love.

Same here. Make sure the pro who puts them on has a look at your hands, big or small, you should have grips that fit you. Also, I like them a little smaller for my wedges.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
