The new Irons of my life...Nakashima!!!

Well I have owned and tried over 30 sets of irons (I start lossing track after 25) and I think I have found the Best irons I have every played(for me at least).

I played 9 holes with a buddy's Nakashima Np-1 3-PW and I instantly fell in love!!!! These are softer and easier to control than the X-tour and MP-32. I'm sure there are folks out there that would disagree but you have to try these irons and see for yourself. I can only draw from my personal (expensive )experience.

Anyway I just got my set in this morning with DG SL S300 shaft and can not wait to swing these puppies.

I will report back with more info if anyone is interested.

Also I went ahead and got the 52, 56, 60 wedges as well. Can't wait to see how that stack up against my CG10 black pearl.

Did you keep a set of irons for like 3 weeks and trade them in? 30 sets of irons? That is rediculous and for me hard to believe. But congrats on finding some irons.

I am happy for you that you found some irons you like but.......30 sets of irons? Have you ever considered that the problem may lie in your swing not your equipment? I don't mean to rain on your parade but if its likely if you would have kept iron set # 1 or #2 , taken the $ you spent on sets #3-#30 and spent it on lessons you would probably be a better player. As the very unpolitically correct saying goes.....Its the indian not the arrows.

I agree with everyone that it is the Indian and not the arrow...but aren't you guys curious on how each irons feels? I've taken lessons and it works out great.

If I can drive a sport car for 3 weeks and change to another sport car...then why not!!! Here is another perspective. If you guys are single and wanted to get marry wouldn't you want to date a bunch of people before you settle down???

I've heard about those folks from Nakashima & I believe they're based from Stockton (?) CA. They also have a product wherein you are able to change shafts on your driver with just a simple tool, much like the same that Callaway uses on their demo days. Let me know what the results with your clubs because I've been looking into changing shafts on my irons & had a different experience when I tried TT DG SL's on a Callaway Xtour set. Right now I'm still using TT DG's on my Mizunos, but gravitating towards TT Black Gold line...

Shigeki, try searching in the forum for the black gold because one member already did a test and did not like the black gold.

BTW going back to my many sets discussion My feeling is you can't really get a good sense of the club when you test them on the mat in a store or even a quick test at the driving range. It's like marrying a girl on the first date

I have never been a real big believer in changing equipment. The only exception would be putters and the occasional driver switch (because of technology). I am waiting on the arrival of the first new set of irons I have bought in 10 years. And really and truly I don't need them, I hit the ones I have now just fine. I just believe you find a good set of irons that give you confidence and fit your eye and then you work like heck to learn to hit them as best you can. Changing too often causes inconsistancy in an already inconsistant game. But thats just my opinion.

i heard lot of postive review on Nakashima...i test their driver and their iron...driver sound good but ball a bit short than my r5 but really like their iron...

I agree. Especially with irons. A driver is one thing...but irons should be in your bag for at

least one year before you are really comfortable with them. I've had two sets of irons in the past 11 years. I'm starting to look for my next set, but I'm not doing it just to try something new...

Changing too often causes inconsistancy in an already inconsistant game. But thats just my opinion.
