I would have to say the course I play most because of the length. 8.1k from the tips. I don't play from them. the course itself is easy in theory mostly straight but there are a lot of different hills from tee to green. so you don't always have a flat lie. the course moves mostly counter clock wise so if you are a right hander then there are mostly pull lies.

1. Pebble Beach (Monterey, CA)
2. Redstone Golf Club (Houston, TX, Site of the Shell Houston Open)
3. Spyglass Hill (Monterey, CA)
4. Kapalua - Plantation Course (Maui, Hawaii)
5. Entrada at Snow Canyon (St. George, Utah)

I learned my lesson about difficult courses, no more. I want to be able to shoot at least 90 when I play. I played the Tennessean near Paris, Tennessee, and it was awful. I quit keeping score, horrible. Green side bunkers 6 feet below the green, sloped fairways on both sides, and putting greens that you putt past the hole and let it come back, so you can get close. I have not played it since then. Now that I have a better game going, I might give it another try, but then again, maybe not. I will play a difficult course if it has great scenery, and a few fair holes. I stay away from long courses.

the short game equalizes everything

Pebble Beach with a 35 mph wind

If you did that recently, I was on Spanish Bay the same day and did real well for the 8 holes I could stay out there.

What is the offical ruling if the wind blows your ball off of the green and 40 yards downhill?

Probably Huntingdon Valley - C9 Course. Philadelphia Cricket Club Militia Hill Course is a close second, though.
