Really a R flex? I'm not one to judge a PGA ertified pro, but I just got fitted for a driver last week and my specs were ball speed avg 155 and around a 260 yd carry which is comparable to your numbers. Explain what the pro meant by the way you swing you need a R flex. Just for clarification. Thanks

My carry yardage is similar. FWIW and from my fitting experience, it's probably how he loads the shaft. Shaft flex is not limited to just swing speed as there are so many other variables: are you a hitter or a swinger? Do you load the shaft properly? When are you releasing the club? All of these things can determine shaft flex. Combine this with kick point of the shaft, torque and weight, and you may be in a regular shaft.

(Even though I have a "stiff" shaft, it's frequency measure is on the lower end of stiff and not the higher end)

This. He said that I would benefit from it more than I would a stiff. I may lose a few yards, but I will come out ahead with being in the fairway. If i hit it 260 into the rough or OB, but hit it 245 in the middle of the fairway, I'll take that any day.

Ya know, I've been told by a few of those "Pros" that when people come looking for FREE advice they like to have a little fun. Sounds like he's a regular comedian to me.

On the outside of your left foot, REALLY???

Yes. When I put the outside of the ball in line with the outside of my front foot I hit the ball more solid. I hit this way for a long time and did alright, but my golf coach tried to change my stance and I've had problems since then. I'm not saying I crush it 350 yards but I make solid contact.

I didn't go looking for free advice, he stopped to watch me demo a preowned R7 and said he'd like me to try a few things.

I'm guessing that you're coming through with the club face wide open. That seems like the only reason to shift the ball forward in your stance like that. Still that seems a bit excessive to me.

Yeah, I've always brought my hands a little forward of my clubhead. I've been working on rolling over my hands better.

But its not like I have a big wide stance, and its not awkward. I'll try to get a quick video shot to show what it looks like.
