Ok, so I stopped playing golf last November for snowboarding season. I didn't touch a club for about 4 months. I came back 2 weeks ago and fired off a 79 without so much as a practice swing practically. Granted it wasn't the hardest course in the world, but I was quite excited for this season. And then yesterday happened.

My first drive was perfect...my 2hybrid into the green came up short, but I striped it and it was windy....AND THEN...I skulled my chip and I went to the sh*ts from there on out. I ended up shooting a 97. My worst round in years and I was trying so f*ckin hard to right the ship. Sure it was windy, but I'm not making excuses because I don't normally do to awful when the conditions aren't exact. Someone tell me this was an anomaly and this has happened to you and it won't happen again. I'm afraid to go to the range thinking that I'm still playing terrible

Why are you afraid to go to the range because you are playing terrible? That is where you fix your problems. Don't worry about your swing just go beat balls on the range and let it come back to you. All mental games, that is what is wrong with golf, is that it is so much in your head that you are trying to fix things that aren't there.

That is why we love the game that we play! Think you have got it under control and its your friend, then next time you go out there with all that confidence the golfing god strikes you down!
Golf is a game whose aim is to hit a very small ball into an even smaller hole, with weapons singularly ill-designed for the purpose.

2 bad rounds. Check your fundamentals.
3 bad rounds. have a lesson.
