My doctor cleared me to to start swinging again. My right shoulder flexibility is still pretty limited. Especially at the top and releasing across my chest.

I'm 5'9" and weigh 180. I kind of like Anthony Kim's swing since he's sorta the same size and build.

I feel like I'm releasing early (timing is off since I normally swing a bit faster). Also, what drill do you have for keeping the club shaft more on plane?

I am not a pro, but it's clear at the top of your swing that you are unhinging your wrists immediately. It appears to be the first thing you do on your downswing even. When you do that, you are effectively releasing almost all of the power you have built up to that point in the swing, and your clubhead speed is all in the momentum of your body turning (which looks good, IMO, you have a great upper body turn at the top, and a nice active lower body on the downswing) and swinging your arms around your body. The biggest problem with a move like that would be not being able to get the distance you ought to be able to achieve and not getting the ball up in the air with your woods and long irons.

Out of curiousity, what was your shoulder surgery for? I've dislocated my left shoulder 6+ times in the last 2 years and I'm pretty much left with surgery as my only option if I want it to stop happening, and I really fear that surgery will restrict my movement so much that it will change my swing.

I was having frequent dislocations as well. I'm only 3.5 months since the operation and this is only my second week swinging a club again. Things are loosening up quickly. I'll let you know how it goes.

It's defientely not a bad swing. It's coming a little inside. One drill I do, (I constantly work on swing plane), is to film yourself, and on the take away, you should feel like you are bringing it outside. This will bring it on plane, then at the top, you need to not reroute your club and make sure to come down on the same path. Good luck!
