my irons originally had winn grips on them (G8's made for nickent i think). I liked the softness since I'm a non-glover, but they hardly lasted a year of moderate play. I had them regripped with tour velvets, which i've been decently happy with, but find them too hard sometimes. If I don't play for a week, it is almost a sure bet that I'll get a blister, a problem I never had with the Winn grips. One positive for the Golf Pride grips though, is the durability...I've had them on there for a full season now and they feel exactly like they did the first round I played with them. Are there any grips out there with the soft feel of winn, but hold up well to moderate to heavy play?

Golf Pride makes the Tour Velvet grips so you should zip over to the website and look for a grip that fits your needs. They definitely have a softer grip somewhere. I'm not sure about how long they last though. It may just be that the softer grip that wears out faster. I've got some g8's on a couple of my wedges and they feel great, but they didn't last very long for me either, but I actually like the tour velvet style grips better, just fits my hand and grip pressure best. Just look at some more choices from Golf Pride and you'll probably find something suited to your tastes.

Not sure about the durability, but I'm pretty sure the new Winn grips, (Extreme Integration, with Butch Harmon on the commercial) will have a pretty soft feel. Maybe they are more durable in this iteration.

The new Winn PCI TL has the winn feel but GREAT durability. I have had them on my wedges for some time now. I hit alot of practice wedges and there is no visible wear. And no difference in feel or tac from new.

I played Winn for about a year and a half and I finally gave up. Wore out too fast. Their newer stuff may be different but that's my experience.

I was going to say the same. They also do a little better in wet weather than the older style winn grips. I played them for a little while, and I accually liked them better without my glove on. Still, I switched back to the new decades from Golf Pride, with tour velvets on my wedges.

    • Ah.. my regular weekend league. Lol Scrambles are fine. Usually there's charity involved. So there's that. There are much worse events Im forced to attend twice a year.
    • Does Justin Thomas have a massively underrated short game? It seems every time I look up he's hitting it close from a tough lie after short siding himself. What masterful touch
    • I freaking hate them. Too expensive, cheaters, food sucks, too dependent on weather, I keep telling myself never do it again but I'm a dummy
    • I enjoyed the A-B-C-D scramble we did at Kittyhawk before it shut down. Yes. The point was to meet the other members and get the season kicked off. Nobody took it too seriously. At least with that group, cheating wasn't a big issue.  As the D part of A-B-C-D, I enjoyed getting to play with one of the Association's top players. One year I played with the city champ. Man could he hit a ball.  It probably isn't something I'd want to do more than once a year, but it has its place.
