The young Japanese is flirting with the cut line right now, but even if he doesn't stick around for the weekend, he has already cemented his place on my list of awesome golfers. Why? Simple: his driver head cover is a cartoon version of himself. Heck, the head cover has its own sunglasses that can be adjusted over his eyes or atop its visor. That's wicked.

Haha, I noticed it earlier, but I didn't know you could adjust the glasses! AWESOME!

that guy was the supposed to be Japans answer to Tiger Woods? he has gotten his A$$ handed to him so far on the PGA Tour...i love the headcover though! and he is a sharp dresser

Keep in mind, he's still just a kid. He is only 16 years old. Once he gets a little more control in his game, he will be fine.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

That is gay. I am going to say he is another kid that will get caught up in the marketing and wont turn into much. Good luck but I dont see it happening.

I think Ishi's success will depend on if and when he decides to leave the comforts of the Japan Tour and play a full schedule either in the U.S. or Europe. Japanese golfers can enjoy a long and successful career within their home country, and I think that has come with the consequence of Japanese players often not adjusting well to golf in the world.

I think he needs to visit a launch monitor and get fitted for a driver. The kid hits it sky high off the tee, it's almost funny.

Brutally long pre shot routine also.

Headcover has gone to his head, hasn't come close to doing anything and is already putting himself over....Plus the driver fits into the headcover in an inappropriate place...kinda creepy.

That's the thing. If Shingo would commit to an American/European schedule, he would be threatening to win those tournaments.

Ok, I think you are reading too much into this head cover....I mean the kid is 17, having fun, and playing well....I agree....let him mature a bit, and he will be some one to reckon with.

As for the head cover....where does the driver enter the cover??? It seems a little uncomfortable...a little pockey!

It's the indian, not the arrow! But it sure is nice to have good arrows!!!!!
