Everyone, please let me know what I need to look for. I went to the range this afternoon and started hitting a sand wedge and had the normal straight ball flight. I went to PW and the ball started to draw some, which is very odd for me. We as I proceeded to the longer clubs, the draw started getting worse. When I hit Driver, I was hitting snap hooks with a lower trajectory then usual. What do I need to look for in my swing to know how to correct this? Most of my clubs are regular flex clubs, if that matters. Thanks!

It could be a grip problem. If i hook the ball i am pretty sure my left hand is positioned too much to the right on the club, i mean, i am using a strong grip that will make the club face to close at impact.
With short irons is more difficult to make turn the ball either way, but as the club is longer, hooks, slices, fades,... are more likely to appear.

I would suggest you to check your grip, make sure is balanced and neither of your hands has a dominant position over the other one.
Also, check your downswing club path.

Hope this helps.

More than likely your swing plane is flat and you are flipping, (rolling, turning your right hand over your left prematurely) and shutting the club face at impact which points your shots left, and if you are coming hard on an inside out swing plane the hooks will be drastic. Make sure you see no more than 2 knuckles of your left hand looking down. You may want a more neutral grip where you only see one knuckle. Also, Check your ball position, it may be a little forward.

I tend to get a hook if my lower hand index finger and thumb get over active on the downswing. If i squeeze with them it pulls the clubface closed on me. I also used to get it from having the ball too far forward in my stance from when I was just starting out and trying to fix a slice through ball placement instead of proper rotation.

You may be too close to the ball . take it back 1,2 or 3 inches and see. the lower clubs with longer shaft may be doing it. worst case you'll push a few instead.

    • I haven’t really filmed in a while. Starting to feel like my body is close to being at full strength again, but I am also 65! I played a few round and my distance is down as expected. Here are a 6 iron and driver swing. My grip is a bit weak in these so I’ve focused on that the last few days. I went over my Erie notes. I’m trying to swing down from the top and not out. I want my weight to start shifting forward at about P3. And I want to push my left hip back in the downswing, which I was not successful in these swings. Ball flight has been pushes or pull draws with the irons and fades with the driver. Looking at these swings I can see why. I just need to change the picture.
    • I flipped the video above but here it is again so you see the flipped version, too.
    • Things can go awry quickly on that hole.
    • I have played that course a lot. Mostly scrambles/outings. I enjoyed the read and could picture each hole and got nervous thinking about number 5. That hole is scary. 200 yard layup off the tee?
    • Even though you didn't score well, take solice in the fact you hit the longest drive of the year! 😏 I enjoy following your rounds and can imagine the scenario.   Thanks for sharing
