I used to hit a fade and hit my driver pretty good. I worked on staying on plane more. It has really improved my iron play and i am about a club further. Couldn't be happier with the results with my irons.

The problem is with my driver and sometimes 2h. I hit a real low hook and i don't know what to do about it. Should i swing on a higher plane? Weaken my grip with my driver? HELP!!!!

Check and see where your club is in relation to your iron shots at parallel at the very beginning of the take away. It may be that you need to be just a little higher. Sounds like a swing plane problem.

Driver - Taylor Made 09 Burner.
3 Wood - Callaway Diablo.
Hybrid Irons - Adams A30S
Wedges - 52* Titleist Vokey Spin Milled. 56*, 60* Taylormade Rac.
Putter - Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #1.

From how you described working on your swing plane helps with the irons, I'm getting the feeling that you probably swing a little too flat to flat with the woods. I'm not working with any video here though, so I could be wrong. But that's what I sense. You can be flat-ish on the backswing, but try and extend through impact to the finish. I think Vijay Singh has the best driver swing ever. Check out how extended and upright his follow-through gets.

He even gives a grunt in this one, that was a monster powerfade there! Anyway back to your swing. Yeah, keeping that good plane on the backswing you've been working on and try and follow through like Vijay. Out and away. Hopefully this helps.

    • Three great shots from McIlroy's group (Smith and the US Am Champ) on 12.  The amateur won closest to the pin, although I doubt the group had a bet going.
    • I thought complaining about Fleetwood's appearance was my schtick   For real though, I agree with you, and when I see that, especially in a major, I'm confused.  When I play in a multi-day event at my club, I plan my clothing in advance because I want to look my best.   If no one else, their clothing sponsors should do this for them.  I think Nike used to do this with their stable -- I used to look forward to seeing their posts on the Facebook before majors to see how Tiger and Anthony Kim and friends would be dressed. Meanwhile, Jason Day is dressed fairly blandly today.  Who saw that coming?
    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
    • Hatton hit 18 GIR.  That's incredible.   Rory's tee shot on #8 reminds me of a TV show, Get Smart, that I enjoyed watching as a kid.  The protagonist would often say "missed me by that much."  Rory missed avoiding the bunker by that much.
