Putting is so personal, it's hard to say one putter or another will be better for you. You can't go wrong with a Scotty Cameron, but I think the hype is a bit over the top. I had a slotline in high school and liked it, but I haven't seen how the new ones perform. It will be tough for them to break into the Scotty/Odyssey/Ping/Taylor Made dominated market.

Hmmm, to choose between (a) a putter from a company that's been out of the business for a long time; hasn't done any real developments; will likely have poor resale value; unproven in competition, or (b) a product heavily used by many pros even when not sponsored by Titleist; consistent performance where about the only bad things people say about it are that it's a bit expensive; and great resale value.

To your question of "would you bank on this?" my answer is no.....

When it comes to putters it's pretty much all about feel imo. And it's kind of nice to have something in the bag that's a little unique or different from everyone else. I wouldn't buy one bline mind you... I'd want to try it first. But if it's at the local golf store, and I liked it, that would be good enough for me.

Hmm...Maybe I could buy the rights to some old golf manufacturer's name, go to any number of club factories in China, and get some VC money for advertising, put up a website, and (re)launch a brand.

Would the products be any good?

I think they'd be as good (or bad) as any new putter that I could make - the history is meaningless.

For the record, the company that owns BagBoy bought what was left of the company.

ive actually tried a couple of the new Slotline putters (one of the 700 series and one of the 500 series). although they arent bad, i wouldnt pay that much for one when you can buy a putter with better resale that will hold its value for the same price or less. a putter is a putter is a putter and they're all very personal. but in my opinion, i would buy something else unless you can get a really good deal on one. there was nothing spectacular about them at all

I got one of their chippers that I love. Hope they can make a comeback. Seemore putters have a good feel too.

After months of watching and searching....I finally bought a new Slotline SSi 693 mid mallet.

I couldn't find any so I called them and they said if the store carries Bag Boy, they can get Slotline...so I asked the local Edwin Watts store in Tampa.....and they came through for me........at an acceptable price....not the advertised $179, but only $100.

Mid-mallet, 360 gms....terrific feel....heavier than most, which is what I wanted. I tried the Wilson 8883, Ping Piper, Odyssey #9, Cleveland & Nike Method....all mid-mallets, but all were lighter than the Slotline. My stroke was in need of a little more push and this fits the bill.

Just wish others would give them a try so they don't disappear again. I still have a Slotline High Moment Inertial that I won in a golf tourney from the early 80's and used for 20 years...

They make a terrific putter with a great alignment system.
