I landed a "job" at the golf course pro shop. I am getting payed in free golf so it is more of a voulenteer effort. Anyway, we have to wear pants and a polo shirt while working, i am not complaining but i would just like to know if you guys know any place to get nicer looking golf pants for cheap. I really don't want to spend 60-70 bucks per pair. Thanks.

Polo Prospect Chinos frequently go on sale for $35-40. That's about all I wear for casual pants. If you want pleats (don't know why you would), the Andrews usually go on sale about the same time. Now that spring is about over, they should be going on sale soon.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

Check out your local Goodwill store, especially if it's near a more prosperous area. I picked up three Greg Norman polo's for two bucks apiece that looked brand new and a couple of Tiger Woods's dry-fit types of shirts for five bucks each and they still had the info tags on them (apparently never been worn). You can probably get some like new pants for close to pocket change.

Goodwill is good, every now and then you might come across some nice name-brand clothes- shirts and pants. They dont have to be name brand either. Also, check out Tj Maxx

Outlet Stores are great for this...you can find deals online too...and eBay too I guess.

Ditto on outlet stores. Banana Republic makes nice affordable stuff. JCrew for golf-like pants as well. Those are two brands I like. The outlets I go to have both stores. You can find just as good as pricing in the mall stores though too. If you have the patience to shop a bit?

Congrats on the job too! Working in a golf shop is a whole lot of fun! The volunteer status in exchange for free golf seems worth it to me. You'll meet some great people.

This is why some people say golf is too stuffy! lol

Really, take a look at Kohl's if you have one in your area.

Im sure you can find something decent for $20 at your local Walmart, TJmax, and outlet stores.

Yeah, because at your local doctor's office, law office, or business office in general you would find everyone inside wearing t-shirts and cut-offs. Don't get me started......

B.O.T. look at the pro-shop itself. At the course where I work we carry all types of apparal and get great deals on it as well. If not right now at a lot of the department stores all the pants are on sale in order to make room for summer clothes. I picked up 4 pairs of nice pants at Dillards last week for $65.

And I get my pants at the IZOD outlet store. Usually $16 or so for some pretty good pants. Less if I wanted to wear golf-appropriate shorts.

Agreed, we can never allow golf to be played without pants. I can only imagine what it would do to all the handicaps.

I always wait for Kohl's to run a sale on their pants and go get like three pair at a time. I can usually get them for around 20 bucks a pair (Dockers, Savane, Chaps, etc) I have to wear them to work as well (Network Administrator for a credit union) and I go through them pretty quickly due to crawling around on the ground so much.
