Some gyms have those stretch out chairs where you sit in them and lean back to stretch out back and shoulders. I find those very useful. Anything you can do that has a rowing motion will be good for your upper back. Lat pull downs as well. The lower back is more of an issue, but if you go to a gym im sure you can find a nautalus machine that works the lower back.

Check out the TPI institute. It has some very good stretches and workouts.

deadlifts, squats, and core work. torso twists with the cables or a resistance band, weighted crunches, etc.

i hit the gym for 2 years while i took a break from golf, came back hitting my driver 50 yds further, it was a nice surprise.
