I am going to buy a new set of wedges but i am stuck on what to buy. I am leaning towards Cleveland, Titleist or Scratch. Tell me what I should get and what you have and if you reccomend them or not. Anything helps. Thanks a lot!

I like Cleveland wedges (and the zip grooves) but most people on here are going to tell you to get Vokeys.

Vokeys? Not for me. I researched this good and hard and decided on Cleveland 588s gunmetal DSG. Got the set (L-S-G) from a golf shop on Ebay (brand new in shrink wrap) for $214. Awesome wedges. Just awesome. Easy to hit and I have never hit my wedges more consistently. Link below to what I bought. Hard to go wrong with this set. A year or two old model, were $115 when current, these are about $65/each. Big bang for the buck. And "zip grooves" and all that, they will be illegal after Jan 2010 and no longer manufactured. I looked at the current Clevelands and they were $109 each. I am more than happy with the 588's I got instead.

From what I have seen there are a lot of great options out there. I ended up going with Vokey myself, but the Cleveland and Callaway X-forged also seem really nice and look great to my eye. Local shop has a handful of used Callaways so I might pick one up to compare to my Vokeys but so far I haven't been disappointed with the Vokey wedges. In only a few rounds with my 58* and only a few hits with my 50* I've already had some great shots.

I don't know why but wedges are my favorite club. I love the look of them, I love hitting them, I just enjoy the heck out of them. Any decent driver will do for me but my wedges just have to feel "right" and so far the Vokeys fit the bill.

I agree 100%. I think it would be hard to go wrong with Cleve, Vok, or Callaw, but I did read several reports of folks having a hard time hitting the Vokeys well. And to be honest, I found a smoking deal on the Cleveland 588's on Ebay. But all are good wedges I am sure. These clubs can really bring down the scores for folks that get a good set and learn how to use them. They are a very worthwhile investment for sure. And buy a Rife putter to go with them. A plug I can't resist. Just the best putter I have ever used. You spend so many strokes a round from 100 and in, it makes sense to spend money, time, and energy one these shots.

You have a lot of Nike clubs already so demo the VR wedges. I really like them, they put plenty of zip on the ball too.

I agree with you slide. Wedges are my favorite club. When i practice at my house i just use wedges and pitch the ball into a circle. I have a very good short game and it is the best aspect of my entire golf game thats why i want to make sure im choosing right. I like the idea of cleveland wedges, I have never heard one bad thing about them, but then again I have never tried vokey wedges so I don't know what they feel like and I wouldn't know if i would like them or not.

Yeah dude 3balls.com has such great deals, and I am looking at buying the Cleveland sand wedge, lob wedge and gap wedge all $50 each. Such a good deal. Plus 10% off.

Just got a gap wedge - Cleveland DSG RTG 52 bent to 51 - absolutely class.

Found it far nicer than Vokeys and Pings - just didn't suit my eye.

I didn't know srixon made wedges...i know they make a good ball, never knew about clubs though.

Vokey's are just awesome to me. I got my first a few weeks ago and I am already a better chipper and pitcher. Its almost not fair how well I hold the greens now with the extra spin.

I must say though, I am still getting used to this vokey from 60 yards plus...

I have never tried a vokey wedge. I have never owned a real set of good wedges. Whenever I buy a new set of irons i just use the wedges that come with the irons, which is usually a PW and a SW so I really dont know what to look for.

I am debating between vokey wedges and srixon wedges. I demoed a 56 degree srixon and played a few rounds with it. I loved it, the wedge felt light as opposed to cleveland wedges which feel much heavier. Its personal preference.
How are the vokey wedges are they light or are they heavy wedges?

Theirs no need to spend over $100 on a wedge when you can get a wedge that performs just as good or better. Check out KZG and Snake Eyes. I demoed both along with Vokey's, Clevelands and Nike's. I ended up going with the KZG's since I felt they had the most feel and provided the most feedback. The wedge is all about feel.
