This Thursday marks the start of the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Fort Worth, Tezas hosted by Colonial CC. many of the world's best players are at this event with the favourites for the event being Casey, Ogilvy, ZJ, O'Hair, Furyk and Perry! ive gotta be honest with you, i dont have a clue who's gonna win this thing as i dont feel confident about any of my usual picks (AK, Poulter, Donald, Vijay) so who do you reckon will be winning this event come sunday?!

funny how this Texas swing brings out the players isn't it? I mean last week 80 of the top 100 players in the world were in the field and just like last week I reckon a dark horse (I know I didn't pick Rory) will more then likely bring home the Trophy come Sunday at the CPI

Brian Davis has finished 5th, 5th, and 2nd in the last three weeks, and passed on the Open Championship qualifier in Dallas on Monday to fulfill a pro-am commitment to Colonial. I say he's going to win this weekend, reach the top 50 in the world rankings, and put himself on the fast track to Turnberry (and Bethpage, for that matter).

3-way tie at the top with stricker, clark and austin all on 7 under! lot of big names still in the hunt with vijay and perry at -6, o'hair at -5 and poulter, casey and leonard all -4! looking like it might be a close run thing this week!

This event is quietly shaping up to be pretty good over the weekend. The leaderboard is very solid, and guys like Casey and Donald are still within striking distance as well. I'd like to see Sean O'Hair finish strong and win his second big event of the season, but it would be nice to see Stricker lap the field as well. When he is on, he is definitely on! And will Tim Clark ever win a PGA Tour event? He is right there yet again.

Just have to chip in here... It does not matter the sponsor's name, this golf tournament is known to all of us in Texas as simply: Colonial. It has always been just "Colonial." The club provided the Hogan Award to the top young up and coming golfer each year, and is very traditional -- a place worth visiting.

He's also the guy who said he'd beat out Tiger soon. Yet another reason not to like him, I guess.

I'm surprised at how many of the fans aren't wearing pink. Then again, unless they actually FOLLOW golf, they wouldn't know to wear pink, would they? So they get a pass.

David Feherty sure went all out. I saw him sneaking into some of the wide-angle shots of the final pairing, looking like the devil manifested in a wad of ABC bubble gum.
