Any thoughts on the courses in Tucson? I'll be there for a couple of weeks and would like to check them out. Already have passes to Ventana Canyon - are they nice?

Thanks!

Dude, I grew up in Ames, Iowa. Really. It's been a while, but at the time there were only two courses - 1 9-hole and the college course. I didn't really play back then. Do they have more now?

And thanks for the info on the courses in Tucson, I'll do some research and see what works best!

The Ventana Canyon courses are very nice, and so is LaPaloma, which is nearby. Starr Pass is also nice. Those 3 courses are kinda $$$$ though. On the cheaper end, I enjoyed Fred Enke, a city course on the east side of town.

Fred Enke is the municipal way to go, I played all the munis during my 3 1/2 years there, and Enke was clearly the nicest (imo). Really nice practice facility there too.
