Was at the range today, kept hitting the driver on a low-ish trajectory.

tinkered with tee height, grip, and ball position (higher, weaker, further forward, resp.) and BLAMMO! trajectory improved, carry lengthened by ~30 yards.

Similar experiences?

I just found some Brush Tees on clearance and thought I would give them a try to help ensure a consistent teeing height. I have only played nine holes so far, but I was happy with the trajectory of my drives.

i had kind of a similar experience except i just shifted my wait more towards my back foot(my right foot since i'm a righty) and my ball flight went higher and was carrying it atleast 30 yards further and the balls were going straighter.

Yea that happened with me too sasquatch. I started shifting a little bit more weight, and more dramatically, towards my right leg (righty), and the ball flew about 10-15 yards farther. I wouldn't go so far to say that it went 30 yards further, because we all know how good I am with distances ;)

But I did see a change in my distance. Try this if you like, but don't over-do it because it will just become inconsistent and you will start hitting stray shots.

Went out for a "fun" 9 holes after work today just to work on a few things (after a terrible round on Sunday). Decided not to count the round for handicap purposes before getting started so I could try a few things and even hit multiple shots from the same location. There were a few things I was pretty sure I was doing wrong with my swing so I wanted to try some things to fix them. The two issues I felt I was having was not properly rotating my hips and getting my club face too open on the back swing. The latter issue has been leading to my slices and pushes I'm pretty sure.

So today I focused on making a good turn, especially with the driver, and keeping the clubface square on takeaway, especially with the irons. I think I was pretty successful...hit a lot of good shots and got the distance back in my driver that I felt I had lost this year (hit a good 265 yard carry on one hole with no help from the wind). Hit quite a few pulls with both the irons and driver, but I chalked those up to not trusting the swing and following through properly...still scared of losing it right. The positive thing is I didn't push or slice one ball all day. Hopefully I can build on this next round and finally get my game closer to where I want it. I think the iron shot I hit pin high to about 1.5 feet on a par 3 was enough to keep me coming back for more ;).

    • Flying into ATL on Sept 11 (Thu), early, leaving Sept 15 (Mon), late. Dates are fixed. Trying to hit the best RTJ Trail stops without spending half the trip in the car.   Plan: Thu: Grand National (Lake or Links) Fri: GN AM, then drive to Capitol Hill, play Senator Sat: Capitol Hill – Judge Sun: Ross Bridge Mon: Oxmoor Ridge early, drive to ATL   Thinking about squeezing in Cambrian Ridge after Capitol Hill—worth it or too much? Would love any feedback or tips from those who’ve done it.
    • Day 73 (13 Jul 25) (note: forgot to post the "day" for the past few days, up to day 73) - Easy day in the backyard, with time on the 50deg wedge and the mat (simulating tight lies around the green) working on low spinners.  Love using this mat as it is small and portable but also lends to being a type of alignment rod to get a proper setup.  Finished up with a few swings with the 54.
    • Congrats on the new leg of your journey - the challenge of learning something new while dealing with Parkinson’s is totally awesome.
    • Played several holes today with my Buddy's left haded clubs.  I was going to order just woods, but after playing again today and hitting the irons well, I will be ordering a complet set of Left handed Clubs.    They are Callaway Edge, Regular flex.  I am excited !  Will let you know after I try them and let you know how well they performed.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • Depends in part on what lie the greens crew left me. If it's first cut of rough or fairway and clear shot to cup, it's an 8i chip and run. If it's shaggy, or I have to go over ridge or bunker, it's a cut shot with a 58* LW.
