I won my match today. Won 2 and 1 had to give the guy 5 to. I shot 76 too(personal best) thanks for all of your help.

Congrats! It's great to come through in the clutch. 2 and 1 shooting a 76? Did you play out the last hole for the heck of it? What did this alleged 14 hcp shoot?!

I wasn't going to do it but this thread inspired me to play in my clubs Match Play tournament this year! I had my first match today and had to give the guy 22 strokes.

I was a little worried that I had to give this guy so many strokes, but I was 4 up after 9 holes and I figured I would just run out the clock and play conservative. We started the back nine and he just butchered #10 so I'm 5 up, then I play #11 well and now I'm 6 up so at this point I'm feeling like lets just get this over with! I hit a great shot into #12 about 15 feet for birdie and he hits the pond next to the green. He hit a great chip to about 4 feet, I missed my birdie and he makes his putt so we tie that hole(I had to give him 1 stroke there)!

The next hole is a short par4, I stripe a solid 3-iron 225 yards straight down the middle. He sprays his tee shot O.B. and has to reload! Game over I win 7&5!

I didn't play my best but man I haven't been that focused since 1995,lol!

      Day 33 (13 Dec 25) - Worked on weight shift and resetting the left heel during downswing (after listening to a discussion on Golf School this morning on PGA Tour Radio).  It centered on how Jack Nicklaus lifted his lead heel and how long driver champs do as well.  Taking cues from that discussion, worked an exaggerated feel of the left heel working doing some swing drill in the backyard using the 7i.  Wrapped up the session by hitting a few low bump and run shots in the backyard - keeping the process slow and exaggerated.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
