Not sure what you're trying to say. I can see the putter hit the ball on my putts... I'm not imagining it. Just putted one in the living room. So again, not sure what you're trying to say.

You see the path of the club, but as for actual contact, no.

And when other posters say that they se it for an 8 iron or a wedge, but nothing else, their presumption is wrong because in theory, a 3 iron swing would be the same as an 8 iron. My thought is that people have responded to the initial question by guessing, rather than actually experimenting, (which I appreciate that you have done.) Also, today whilst watching the St. Jude tournament on TV I was trying to see "contact", and of course could see a path, a blur but no Moment of impact. You would need to have eyes with a stroboscopic quality. But.....it's a good thing to TRY to do.

Check next time you play.

What are you saying? I'm lying? I just did some putts here and I see it.

I think you're just defining "see" in a bizarre, unnatural way. A way that means we rarely "see" anything. "Did you see that bird flying?" "No, it was moving, so I didn't see it." That makes no sense to define it the way you seem to be.

Most of the time I don't "see" the driver make contact with the ball, but on putts I sure do.

Fair enough - I'll settle for a difference in definition. And.....amazingly, I went and practiced some 1 foot putts an hour ago, and the result for me was the same - stroke and the ball just disappears. No Makes me wonder whether my eyes are worse than I thought.

lol with all due respect shortly, i believe an eye test could be of great benefit to you. I can appreciate your opinion, however i cant get my head round the fact that you believe you cant see the putter head hit the ball on a 1 foot putt. That is totally crazy talk. I also disagree with you saying that if i can see it with 8 iron i should with 3, yes you are right the swing mechanics r the same but my clubhead speed is not the same with 3 and 8 iron.

I only really "see" the ball when I'm putting. That said, I do make an effort on all shots to keep my head down.

I know it sounds crazy, but I'm actually serious. I couldn't believe it myself, but it's true.

It might sound dumb but I was reading an article that was talking about seeing the club make contact with the ball. I started thinking about it and realised I don't think I do this. I think my head or my eyes have already moved to see where the ball will go. Or perhaps I'm swinging too hard to control that moment. Should you be able to see the contact? Could this be a key to consistent, smooth tempo - only going as fast as allows you to see the moment?

Were you reading the article where Johnny Miller was saying he could see impact? I like Johnny, but I'm with Nicklaus who was telling him "no way".

Yeah I think it was. Nice work, thanks. I've been struggling to work out where it came from. Been a bit quiet at work and have read a lot of stuff recently including that article.
