A guy my father knows is offering to sell his 2009 Callaway X22 irons for $350. Could you guys tell me how good of a deal this is and in your experience are they good clubs?

X-22s are supposed to be exceptional clubs. I have the X18 pros and I love them. The 22s are suppose to have a 16% increase in MOI than the 18s that I have as well as an exceptionally low CG. I know that the ball comes off these clubs very hot. Plus the starting price usually is around $700+ so $350 isn't a bad price. It may be the last set you buy for a very long time. This is my opinion though and as you can read I'm very bias. If you are still curious try hitting a demo at your local golf shop. The feel and sound were a big key in my decision.

$350 is a good price for a secondhand set of X-22s in good condition. You can get a new set of X-18Rs for $399, but the X-22 has better technology.
Most golf stores have an X-22 demo you can hit.

i have the x-22 since a few months and i really like them. they are very forgiving with a good feel on well hit shots. they look a little bit clunky and have a lot of offset, but they help me a lot.

i can absolutely recommend them.

I use the X-20s and love them. I think the X-22s have better technology so $350 for a 2nd hand set ain't bad. However, check out their condition first. Make sure you're not buying overly abused clubs though given that they're quite new, that's pretty much unlikely.

Make sure they're not knock-off reproductions, either. A friend I know bought a "second hand set" of X-20's and found out AFTER he paid that they were knock-offs. The "X" on the irons was a plastic glue on piece, not molded into the iron like a 'real' set.

I'm not trying to be negative ... just cautious, I guess.

Seems like a decent price. A couple of months ago, when I was looking for clubs, I hit them and thought they were OK. However, for my swing, I liked the R7's better. You can get them right now for $370 or so for 4-AW.

I say hit them and compare them to others, then make your decision.

Just hit all the Callaway irons at a local demo day this past Sunday, actually. I liked the feel of all of them. X22's were very nice and felt good. I liked the Callaway Prototype's the most, but that's just my opinion. They all felt great if you can get them at a good price go for it and get properly fitted.
