Here's the link to Tiger's method, from Golf Digest.

Quoted from that article:

Basically, I set up in a slightly narrower stance than normal but use my standard ball position, just inside my left heel for the driver and fairway woods.
My swing thought is to keep my hands leading the club past impact by softening my elbows. I take a little divot when I hit this shot with a fairway wood (above). I also get more extension through the shot by keeping the club pointing to the ground as long as possible.
The release point determines the shot shape. I usually hit a little draw with the stinger, releasing the club naturally. If I want to play a low cut, I hold off the release a fraction of a second through impact.

I always thought that was an awesome shot as well, and I saw this article last week. I tried it this past Saturday, and out of 5 attempts, I was only able to do it twice (using my 3W). Those two times were sweet though!

I've never had luck replicating other people's shotmaking thoughts. It's just so swing-dependent and your own swing thoughts will interfere with his.

Personally, I go out on the range and try a few dozen different ways of hitting a shot. After years of practice, I can basically hit low draw, low fade, high draw, high fade, etc with most clubs, but I wouldn't even begin to try to explain my swing thoughts, since I don't think they would do you any good.

My low fade involves exagerated shoulder turn. A low draw is more of a ball-position setup with a different hands move. A high draw requires a slightly difference stance and a high fade is a swing plane thing.

I can't really explain it more than that and it seems pointless to me to try to replicate his "soft elbows" or whatever... I think I might just chunk it if I tried.

I can only do this shot with a 3-wood, but all i basically do is set up like im hitting a mid-iron and swing normally. The tendacy for me is to get steep when i try to hit the stinger, but if you stay flat it works most of the time. I use it on long par 3's when i have an open green to roll the ball into.
