I have seen a few threads on this but I think mine might be a little different. With anything from my driver through my 5i my swing is very upright. Very steep and I finish with my hands almost at my head. Anything lower than that I would say I have a traditional swing with a good plane(not too flat and not too steep). I have tried a lot of different things and I seem to lose no distance and hit the ball a ton more accurate like this. If I try to flatten it out I hit dead duck hooks now. Personally I don't think it's a bad thing because the ball goes where I want it to, but I think as I progress in golf I may get frustrated with it just not looking right. Is there any reason why I can't hit a longer club with a flatter swing, and is there anything wrong with a very up and down swing that finishes very high? This is only my second summer of golf, so everything isn't super consistent right now and can change. I hit the ball a long way and am trying to smooth things out for accuracy and maybe give up a little distance if I need to which isn't a problem.

DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DRIVER SWING.... i repeat, DO NOT CHANGE YOUR DRIVER SWING!!!!! just a few months ago, i was able to hit my driver dead straight with a slight draw about 300 yards 10 times out of 10. i let someone talk me into flattening out my swing plane for more distance and workability. haha, i could kill the bastard who told me that. not only am i scared to swing my driver because i duck hook it all the time, but whenever i try to go back to my old swing i duck hook that too because my timing is all off. don't get messed up like i did. i'm still trying to figure this thing out. don't get me wrong, i do get about 15 yards farther with my new swing, but i'll trade those few yards anyday for my swing back.

    • I have been on a roll in November. Today was a 77 (69.2/115, 6,050 yards) on a wet course with dew covered bumpy greens. Better greens and I might have shaved a few more strokes off the score.
    • So, it appears to me that everyone is bringing out some version of the zero-torque, or square to square, or torque balanced, putter.  What ever name you want to give it seems like everyone has one of these types of things in their line up now.  It reminds me of about 10 years ago, when everyone had to have a counter-balanced putter in their line-up.  Callaway Media | Videos, Podcasts, & Episodes | Golf Content The Official source for Callaway golf clubs, golf balls and gear.
