I've been working on a reverse pivot, better wrist hinge, hip turn, and transition, and it's finally starting to gel. I know this is going to sound completely crazy, but I think the ball looked darker in the air when I was hitting it today. Before the changes, I'd suddenly been hitting this really super-high climbing 8-iron that probably maxed out at 140. Today, I was nutting this really nice mid-trajectory 8-iron that flew 160 with almost zero effort. I was shocked at the difference in lighting on the ball while it was in the air. Maybe it's the summer solstice, but I swear it looked different. Almost like it was a floating image in some UFO footage. So incredibly still and just floating there... What's the deal?

Wait, you're working on a reverse pivot? Do you mean you are working on eliminating a RP?

I mean I'm working on a reverse pivot like a boxer "works" on someones face.

I think I figured out what's going on. I'm simply hitting the ball lower, flatter and very straight, instead of the high and spinny shot with a lot of curve I used to have. That makes it look like it's floating in mid-air. Now my brain actually has the time to notice the lighting on the ball instead of working hard to try not to lose it in the air and squinting because I'm looking up so high.

    • Wow, largest ever 36-hole lead at the Masters. Seems good. I don't really have much to add, but I'm having a great time nursing a cold by watching this tournament.  I doubt Rory fumbles this one, but you never know. As a fan, I hope he can close this out with two rounds to go.  I saw a funny comment somewhere where someone said Bryson should try to 3D print himself a green jacket.
    • Day 234 4-10 Blending hip/chest rotation backswing work and wrist arch in downswing. Pause at the top and slower swing. Recorded and hit foam balls.
    • Day 2, April 10 2026.  After watching today's excellent Masters broadcast, I have hit 18 balls, one at a time, each after doing the pelvis limiting drill.
    • Day 33 (10 Apr 26) - Played in the club Friday shootout with a slight twist as the course was setup for tomorrow’s local “Masters” one day tournament.  The pins were in some slippery places and the greens firm and bouncy.  Overall made for staying the process all the more important especially on the greens.
    • Rory up by six - makes me wonder if the powers that be will adjust Augusta’s moving day setup to be uber tough or uber getable to get a few closer.
