So I purchased a pair of Adidas powerbands off of ebay last sunday. Promptly sent the payment 5min after I won. I waited until Tuesday then I emailed the seller asking for a confirmation that I won the auction, he received the payment, he was going to ship the product, etc. Not to much to ask I think. I waited until Thursday and still had not heard back from him. I then sent another email stating that if I did not hear from the seller by Friday evening I would be contacting PayPal in order to retrieve my money or something. No email from seller. I tried to issue a complaint with PayPal but they require you wait at least 7 days to issue a complaint just in case the item shows up between then.

The shoes showed up today, the invoice says they came from gppgolf.com (which from reading is a good site to buy from) even though the seller name indicated no affiliation. I would really like to leave a neutral feedback as I am very upset about the lack of communication on the sellers part. Should I do this or leave a positive feedback because the items arrived in the condition they were advertised in and the amount of time the auction indicated they would.

opinions?

I have been shopping on ebay for a while, some times the seller will not reply to you EVER. The product may be in mint condition and arrives days before it is supposed to. But some sellers will NOT say a thing to their buyers. You can choose to leave bad or good feedback. I have always left a positive feedback with something along the lines of "Good seller, fast shipping" and that was it. I mean customer service is something the seller CAN provide, but not necessarily.

Ya. If its a seller that makes his living off ebay, its possible he has so many auctions that its easier for him just to ship and be done with it.

You got the item on time, in the shape it was advertised to be in. I'd say that warrants positive feedback, no matter where the shoes came from. I definately cant see a reason for neutral or bad feedback.

Maybe he genuinely didnt have time to answer you, this is around the time of year most people go on vacation. Maybe he shipped it and had to go and hasnt checked his email. Theres many scenarios, but the important thing is, you got your items, on time and as advertised. Anything less than positive feedback would be a bit anal on your part.

Maybe mention that it was on time and as advertised, but there was a lack of communication on the sellers part in your feedback message.

In the Ogio Kingpin bag:

Titleist 913 D2 9.5* w/ UST Mamiya ATTAS 3 80 w/ Harrison Shotmaker & Billy Bobs afternarket Hosel Adaptor (get this if you don't have it for your 913)
Wilson Staff Ci-11 4-GW (4I is out of the bag for a hybrid, PW and up were replaced by Edel Wedges)
TaylorMade RBZ 5 & 3 Fairway Woods

Cobra Baffler T-Rail 3 & 4 Hybrids

Edel Forged 48, 52, 56, 60, and 64* wedges (different wedges for different courses)

Seemore Si-4 Black Nickel Putter

I would only leave negative feedback if the item was seriously not as described, took 2 times longer to receive, stuff like that.

**NEVER, EVER leave a neg. feedback unless it is warranted. If you leave neg. fb for a minor reason, it will reflect badly upon you. Many sellers may end up not letting you bid. You got your item, it doesn't matter where it came from; in the end it all comes from somewhere. Hopefully as described. I'm sure you recieved message/email confirmation of payment...

The inherent problem is that the biggest sellers are often the ones with the best deals, most sales, and least time to commit to communication. I hear ya tho. Take the good, take the bad.....good luck...

You guys tell me if I was wrong. Ordered a 5W on ebay from a sellers with about 150 sales, no not a bit-time seller. I paid immediately after I won Monday morning then emailed to say that I'm playing Friday and really would love to have the club by then. He sent it quickly, but mailed it with the cheapest USPS option available. Now, if I paid something less than the $15 shipping he charged, I would have been last annoyed, but for $15, I expected it would arrive by Thursday. It didn't.

Now, I got the club, and it's as described, in good shape, etc. But I'm pissed he didn't even offer that I could get the club faster by paying a couple extra bucks. I gave him a neutral rating, and explained exactly what I did above, thinking neutral is neither positive nor negative.

philsrhman, I believe you were wrong. Especially if the shipper stated method of shipping in the auction, which they usually do.

Seller is held to what he lists in the auction, any addition done off the side of ebay is auxiliary, and should not affect his feedback.

wow. It sounds to me like you were geeking hard for your shoes. Read your question above again.. I personally think you leave positive feedback like you are supposed to and just select moderate for seller communication in the detailed seller feedback portion.

I agree both situations warrent a positive feedback.
Sellers did as their auctions said they would.
Remember to always go thru the auction very carefully before bidding and you wont get dissappointed.
And if a question is on your mind, then simply email the seller.

As someone who buys and sells off Ebay, and has a 100% rating, the etiquette is that if you got what you paid for and the Seller delivered as promised then that warrants positive feedback. WIth regards to shipping remember that that covers more than the physical postage/ UPS etc, it also needs to take care of the packing materials and the time to go to the post office etc. The seller does not have the option of leaving negative feedback on someone.

I realize that someone who is new to Ebay may not be aware of all the "rules" of etiquette etc but think of it like golf on a sunday afternoon. In order for the day to be enjoyable there is has to be a little give and take. That's the same with anything on Ebay, if you want to get a deal then there's always the option of buying from Amazon, Golf Smith or Dick's.

Enjoy Ebay for what it is, a marvelous place to get some really great deals. Have fun finding stuff that no one else wants, but for you may be just the perfect thing.

You guys are right. I will try to revise.

    • You DO realize that all of your prior posts in this thread are still there for folks to read?  Put the shovel down. As to best player not to have won the career grand slam, ever hear of a fellow named Sam Snead?  Or Arnold Palmer?  Or Phil Mickelson?  Or Lee Trevino?  All-time greats who were never able to complete this.  Because it's hard, and not doing it doesn't really say anything about greatness.  Or "demons".  Or being "jacked".
    • I know I’m really resurrecting this thread but what do you guys think of Jason Day’s style of dead hand wedge from say 30-90 yards. You can start with a fairly vertical shaft so it still uses the bounce I think. Is speed the limiting factor here because of the lack of wrists, or would the feel of dead hands actually cause lag on the downswing and actually end up using more leading edge than bounce anyway.  I just wonder would it be easier for distance control in terms of backswing length.  Any opinions on it?
    • Day 278: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 - 2025-04-24 Got some good partial wedge work in today. Same stuff as the full swing, but I can see why I was trying to do something a bit different.
    • Day 4:Full Speed Spectrum Training Session 8/24 Dropped 2 mph from last session. This is my 6thFull Speed Spectrum program and I have often struggled swinging so many heavier weights and maintaining speed with the195 gram measuring weight.
