I was having similar problems. Then I went and got some lessons about three weeks ago. I've only had three lessons so far, but I've improved it dramatically. I used to NEVER take a divot, sweep everything, and even my good shots were quite thin (but went high, and no one noticed they were thin)...

The problem? My weight was too much on my heels at address, and during my swing. Also contributing to it I was too far from the ball.

Maybe give these two things a try - worked for me.

Driver Ping G10 10.5*
Hybrids Ping G5 (3) 19* Bridgestone J36 (4) 22*

Absolutely agree - as you can see from the amount of good and/or well intentioned advice posted here - what you really need is a trained pair of eyes watching your swing. Good luck
