Here are some pictures of my new Macgregor Pro MT combo set for you to look at. You can also get them in all cavity backs for the same price. The gunmetal wedges don't come with the set.

oh yeah those things are freaking GORGEOUS!!! i was looking at them on Ebay today. $299 BRAND NEW!!! unbelievable! though Ive never hit them, Ive never heard a bad thing about them and I would buy those without even hitting them they look so good, lol. i love the no offset thing too

I did buy them without hitting them. I just got them on wed and played one nine. I am not disappointed. I came from some DCI oversize + golds.

thats funny, i gamed the DCI 962's for 9 straight years. loved em!!! your irons are freaking BEAUTIFUL! i know ill prolly be kicking myself someday when they are no longer available for $299 like they are right now on Ebay.

My goodness those MacGregor MT irons are gorgeous and they have them in BLACK!!! Look 10x better than the Nike Pro Combo Tours. Too bad their woods look so ugly. Now I have one more set to choose from.

I think I am going to weed out some of the irons that are $400+ such as the X-22 Tours and Mizunos. There are so many to choose from around the $300 range that seem just as good.

yeah, thats a good idea IMO. and i agree, those MacGregors are just plain gorgeous. now Im wanting a set of them and I wasnt even looking for irons, lol... and for $299, you just cant beat it. they have them for that price in chrome, satin, and black (gunmetal) too. you can get all cavity backs, a combo set (cavity/blades), or all blades too....

There is an auction for gunmetal heads on ebay. Then you can put whatever shafts you want in them. Or you could buy the +1's and cut them down to standard. The auction I got them from, the title says satin, but there is a correction in the auction that says they are chrome. It is the one with the NIppon shafts.

man, i am REALLY wanting a set of those MacGregors now, lol. I really wish you wouldnt have posted those photos of your clubs, lol. the Pro-C's remind me of the DCI 962's too. I would get a combo set like yours though. dang it...now I want them....

Yea I saw the Pro-M (satin finish though) in a bucket of $5 clubs and thought "man what a good looking club". Of course I took it home and hit it some ... seems more solid and heavier than my CG-1s. Less "snappy" feeling, but my guess is that may be more a function of the shaft, DG S-300 vs PX 5.5.

My comment is on the combo set makeup. If I had it to do over I wouldn't get the CG-2/CG-1 combo or at the very least split on the 5 and not the 6. The 6/7 split for me is still in the scoring range and I would like a consistent feel and shot from those irons. The 5 for me is starting to get into the just get it up there somewhere within reason so splitting there wouldn't bother me much. Just my two cents, other combo sets may transition better than mine, of course I can only comment on my experience.

If you got them from the same seller as me you can get them quick. I hit the BIN button abour 3pm on Monday, the clubs were in my hands by 10am Wednesday.

That's quite a temptation. I am going to be playing with some Adams Idea Pro (non-gold) irons with TT black gold shafts tomorrow and some Mizuno MP-57's with PX5.5 shafts on Sunday. So I shall see how those work out.

I vote MP-57s out of that list. I've been playing mine almost a year now and like them more and more. In fact, the more I play, the better I like them; right now they're telling me I can break 80 every time I tee it up if I just "swing" them.
