So you don't think a care that does a quarter mile somewhere around 11 and a half seconds, possibly south, while costing 1/3 of its competitors isn't great?

Thats pretty good ,but I consider myself an avg guy but 43 G is far out of my range.

yes i agree that 43k is probably not the average car, I was however calling Fraser, on how a vette Z06 which retails for like 65k and can run down cars 10 times its price, is average, and "not great' as he said it.

A pretty fast 1/4 mile time does not a great car make.

and also the fact that they are without any power adders. Anyone could stick a supercharger on a vette, and get 100+ more hp, a la the zr1 vette.

the zr1 retails a little over 100k if I'm correct and could smoke any car 5 times as much as it.

That's the beauty in my vette, it smokes the 1/4 AND corners like a car 5x the $$.

I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

In my bag todayâ¦.

Ok yoda, so what makes a car great for you?

For me the perfect car is a zero compromises blend of luxury, speed, handling and something that looks the part either in the supermarket or outside a casino in Monaco. IMO there are only a few cars that I feel are close to this, a handful off the top of my head (each slightly skewed to different elements of the above); Mercedes CL65 AMG, Ferrari 599, Aston Martin DBS & Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series. A great car doesn't need to knock all of the above out of the park but must excel in most of the areas.

Frankly I couldn't be less impressed by 1/4 mile times. With time and money I think you could get a Kia Rio to do an 11 second quarter, it proves nothing other than it is a one trick, fast-in-a-straight-line, pony. I'm far more impressed by quick times for road cars around the Nurburgring Sudschleife, something that the latest Corvettes (since a few of you mention them) do very well on. That's just my opinion. It isn't wrong, it isn't right, it's just how I value what a great car is. Shoot me

    • I too am still smarting from Rory's collapse. Shame, but let's hope he bounces back with a major or two or three in the coming years. As for Bryson, I wasn't rooting against him at all because like many others I've found him more likeable now than say 3-4 years ago. However, once that final putt dropped and I saw him celebrating I realized pretty rapidly... I don't like Bryson that much! 😄 But look, devil's advocate, his new persona may be calculated, but Josh Koch recently only had nice things to say about Bryson in his recent swing analysis of him. Bryson has been inspired by Josh: ...and maybe this is why Josh doesn't have anything bad to say about him, but hey, I like Josh Koch, I respect his opinion on things golf related, and yea, I'm inclined to dial back my Bryson hate if someone like Josh is saying he's not as phony as he may be coming off as lately.    I'm not trying to make excuses for his blatant tone deafness over the Saudi regime's atrocities and all that, just that Bryson seems to be a genuinely nice guy otherwise... even if I wasn't really rooting for him.

    • I am just about getting over it today. I have always been a Rory fan and I have watched his career swings, mostly up. The last ten years have probably been tough even with all the victories and success, because I am sure his goal is to make Majors his legacy. The last couple of years must have taken a toll because of his level of engagement with the Tour, and Sunday was the ultimate crash. He just got beat in the Open at St. Andrews and there were other Majors where he had a chance and just fell short. Sunday was different. He just blew it, and to a LIV player to boot. The pain and humiliation will leave a serious mark and it may take some time for it to heal. Regardless, there will be scar tissue. I will remain a fan, but I can't say that I will stay as committed. I felt a degree of his pain and I don't need that, being a long time Philly sports fan, if you know what I mean in THAT regard.
    • Day 99. Played 18. Didn’t spray the ball everywhere and played to my handicap. Happy with results overall because golf is hard.
    • I knew there was an easier way to get my handicap down!
