Hi, I picked up the 20° with regular graphite shaft.

I was looking for a hybrid with a neutral setup, since my TM Burner Rescues give me the creep more and more (hook machine). The setup and looks of the Pro Gold feels just right. I find it rather hard to get the ball airborne, even with the regular flex shaft. The ball does not bounce of the clubface like with other more wood-like hybrids, but needs to be hit hard, just like with a 3 iron, I guess. However, when I have the guts to swing through, the ball goes where and how i want it to go, provided I did properly release the club. If I dont release good enough I have a push or slice. So not a beginners hybrid, but you're a good hcp, and should have a lot of fun with it.

It's definitely more of a 'players' hybrid than most. It's not as forgiving as the majority of the hybrids on market, more in line with the Titleist hybrids than the more popular models. That is not to say it's not forgiving at all, though. It's still easier to hit than a long iron (by far). It has a lower ball fliight than other hybrids with same loft and shaft flex and is more workable (might be among the most workable of all hybrids). It has a very solid feel. As 'Range King' said it's a good hybrid for a better swing (and thus is among the most popular hybrids on the professional tours). When you put a good swing on it it will produce really good results.

So, what do you guys think of the Adams A3 Boxer hybrid then? Is that more forgiving yet less workable and further etc?

I love the old Pro Gold. I would have to say its pretty darn forgiving. If you put a bad swing on the ball you will get a bad result.

Yes, the Boxer hybrids (A3 and A4) are quite a bit more forgiving, but definitely less 'workable' and with a higher trajectory, which usually leads to more distance. They feel a little softer as well on impact.

What would you guys think would be better for me? Id be thinking of either getting the 19* A3, or the 20* Pro Gold.

That would depend on how much time and effort you practice with the club. If you want something easy to hit straight get the A3 or a TM Burner Rescue. The Pro Gold is more for shot shaping and will need some practice. I used the Burner Rescue before I bought the Pro Gold. Have yet to hit the Pro Gold in the rough but its chunkier so I am not sure how it'll cut through.

I think it is better in the rough than the Burner Rescue. The Burner slides more, and I feel I am not getting to the back of the ball.

The Pro Gold has a more compact head and I dont have to come in as steep as with the Burner.

I got my Adams hybrid a few months ago. I switched over from the Titleist 585H. I really enjoy the club. It is considered a "players" hybrid but don't let that scare you away.

I hit it out of the rough, fairway, and love it around the green for bump and runs.

I would highly recommend it to others.
