still pretty new golfer here, only been playing seriously for about a year. About a month or two ago I was starting to get pretty comfortable with my swing.

But the last 2 times out I have felt very uncomfortable and my back is killing me about half way through the round. I must be doing something wrong, but Im not good enough to pinpoint it.

My main flaws seem to be:

- hooking, almost never slice
- hit fat
- hit on toe of club

I just dont feel comfortable in my swing, any ideas?

Do you have a strong grip?

It sounds like you are still swinging outside in (hook with face closed) and too steep (fat), but instead of slicing it you have a strong grip with the face closed at impact, causing a hook. Also you may be opening your hips too early.

I would video tape yourself and also see where your hands are at impact. They should be in front of the ball, this will keep you from hitting it fat, because you will hit the ball first, then take a divot.

If your back is hurting after a round of golf you have to be careful you do not hurt yourself.

make sure to protect your back and loosen up before and after your round of golf by walking or other form of exercise.

If your back is hurting you are most likely not using the correct motion in your golf swing.

send us a video and take it easy and listen to your body or you will end up hurting yourself and not be able to play golf.
