I was reading about this in my area and I can't seem to find any good info on it. When I bring up the schedule for my area, it just shows tournaments in CA. Is this because the season is over or something? I would like to see a list of where the tournaments are held to help me make my decision.

Anyone on here playing in it? How is it? Just from reading the site, it sounds pretty cool and with no other stuff going on in my area really, it is ideal for what I want to do.

I'm assuming you looked on their website:

I did that but if you are look at the schedule it doesn't show any tournaments. I talked with one of the main people and they said there were only 60 days left in the season and that Memphis will probably not have a tour next year. That was the one that was close to me. I guess I might have to try Nashville. I saw what you are talking about, but I didn't see a list of venues? Did you?

I would check out the EGolf tour.

http://www.egolf.com/amTour.aspx

They are about half the cost of the Golf Channel Tour and have good competition. Looks like they have 3 tours in TN. Good luck.

Thanks man!! I checked this one out and it sounds much better than the Golf channel tour. I talked with the guy from the golf channel tour and it sounds shady...like it may or may not be around in my area next year.

So, the eGolf one is the one I am going to try out. Thanks again.

I looked at it again and it showed a number of events in Tennessee along with the regionals and championship:

Those are all east TN. I talked with the Golf channel guy and he said the reason none are showing up for memphis and nashville is because they don't have a director for them and that they may not be around next year. That is the difference. I saw those you have listed but those are like 6 hour drives!! The ones I was looking for are Memphis and Nashville.

I looked into doing it in New York. However, it was just too pricey for the course where it was being held. Sorry but not plunking $150 for a course that I normally pay $32 to play.

It's possible that's a normal price for a tourney?

Anyway, good luck to those that are participating. Would be pretty cool if they televised the finals.

That is what I thought too about the etour that I am looking into. The fees at one course was like 95.00 and I usually pay 30 or 40. But once I got to reading about it, that fee included greens fee, cart fee, range balls, prize pool, skins, etc...It included quite a bit of stuff and that is why it was so high.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
