Does anyone ever have a Tin Cup moment at the range before your round where you just can't hit the ball at all. I had one a few days ago and it carried over into the first few holes of our round. What do you guys do to deal with that type of problem if you have it. I feel like I started to over analyze my swing and started to tweak it some which did not help.

I just try and think about nothing. I think i saw this in the Hank Haney/ Charles Barkley thread, and it just said to think in your head:

all the time. luckily, my range sessions and rounds on the course seem to have no correlation with eachother.

yep...gathered up all of the gear, got a beer, and tried another day.

Yup. For the most part I have stopped hitting at the range all together. The only time I really use it now is maybe to warm up with a few balls I dont know why this is, but if I am hitting it bad at the range, it usually means I will be ok on the course. If I am hitting great shots on the range, I go to the course and hit the ball like crap. I dont get it. Whenever I try hitting buckets of ballls at the range, I start getting sloppy and changing my swing and just struggle through most of the balls. Afterward I feel like I accomplished nothing. you almost have to use the range only to work on a specific component of your swing, and not worry at all where the ball is going.

    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
