You know what?If you dont mind playing in the heat of the afternoon you can get on as a walkon if your a single Tuesday thru Thursday.

Another reason to keep in shape and hoof it!

I was jealous when Erik got to go up there and play. I'd love to get out there sometime.

Fairways and Greens.

After living in Southern and Northern California for six years, it sure is nice to pay Central Pennsylvania rates for golf. In CA I would routinely pay $75-$100 (including cart) on the weekends. And you're generally forced to ride before noon. Now, there are a number of decent public/muni courses I play. Dauphin Highlands, where I play most of my golf, is $50 to ride on weekends. That's pretty much the highest, unless I get an invite to Hershey or some other semi-private course.

I hate you all...

its a shame where I live, we have Ponkapoag (voted top 50 worst in America) and George Wright GC... both Donald Ross designs owned by the state... well, to say the least they are the worst kept courses I have ever seen.. 18 holes - 38 bucks, season pass 900....

that gives you a picture of what I'm working with, course down the street from - Dedham Country and POLO (yeah I typed that correctly, POLO)... 45,000 initiation and 6 thousand a year...

$6k per year isn't really that much. $500/month? I would spend that anyway playing public courses and I wouldn't even get in as much golf.

It's the initiation that gets you.

did you miss that little fee... thats one of the cheaper clubs around here too... remember Brookline is 2 miles from my house... the hallowed "Country Club"...

I was lucky enough to be invited to play the championship course there from a friend who's family are members, I laughed inside, obviously, because 90% of the members there are horrible at golf... there are definately some gamers though

I like the way Jackie Burke set up Champions in Houston. If you are not at least, I think, a 15 handicap, there is no need to apply. He says if you are not serious enough to practice your way down to a 15, you can't play on his course. I know some guys will disagree with that, but I can sort of see his logic. Besides, he is one of the all time golf characters and arguing with him about it would be a waste of breath.

      I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers

      Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.

      So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
