has anyone tried these irons? the Acer XK High Trajectory Iron? The regular version apparently won an award in golf digest for best value. they claim the high trajectory irons are the easiest to hit of the group, which would be nice for me.

I'm a beginner to intermediate golfer. i shoot anywhere from 84-94 on any given day. i usually shoot high 80's to low 90s. My current set of irons now is the set i bought when i first started playing 4 years ago. its some really cheap off brand set of clubs. ZIII irons or something, haha. I was looking to upgrade because my clubs are starting to mess up.. my 7 iron and my 5 iron sound really hollow when i hit them now, and they feel weird when i hit them. and my 4 iron club head is slightly turned after i chunked a shot awhile back, so its time to upgrade!

i was looking at brand name clubs that would be good for an intermediate to beginner, but they are expensive, and i would't know which set to choose, then i came across these in golf digest, and they are pretty cheap. Sounds like something i could hit easily and would work great. has anyone else tried these?

and if so, what website should i order these from? there's so many websites that offer them, and i'm not sure which one to choose. Is there a specific one that offers these that any of you have ordered from before that you know is a quality company and offers good products?

thanks in advance for all the help and suggestions :)

Why not buy direct from

+1

as for which set, my buddy has a set of the predessor to the XK, the XP905's and he got the HT versions and likes them alot. I actually put them together for him, we used the Apollo spectre lite steel shaft. Give Jeff a shout over at Hireko and talk to him about the XK line. The greatest part of the Hireko website is that the clubs are built to order so you can get your lie and length adjusted before delivery. Also, you can select from a HUGE range of shafts. I presonally think the Apollo spectre lites are a great shaft at an excellent value. Also, consider going with a combo set where you get some Acer XK hybrids in the 3 and 4 instead of getting irons. I am a huge Hireko supporter.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

I have the Acer XK Pros, seem to be clones of Callaway x20s. I wasn't going to bother with the Acers, but a local club fitter promised me (w/money back garuntee) that I'd like them and pay hundreds less, so I took him up. Ended up quite happy and he kept his money. I think you'd like them, as long as you don't care about having 'fancy' name brands that tour pros use. Tis a nice club!
