When I was an active golfer, 1978 - 1993, I could never hit a (real wood) driver or 3 wood. I was very good with a 5 wood and a 7 Ginty. Hence I'm looking at the Diablo 5 wood and a hybrid.

I'm very comfortable with my 3 iron.

A local pro likes the Diablo fairway and hybrid better than Ping G10s.

Tried both but don't feel a difference.

Any thoughts?

I am a Callaway guy when it comes to woods. I've always found them more forgiving then other brands - but that's just me, of course. I am not a fan, however, of the Diablo. I don't like the angled headshape.

And if I don't like the way it sets up, I'm not going to have any confidence in striking the ball. That's my 2 cents.

I'm a fan of both the Callaway and Ping range.

However, I have to say I was quite disappointed with the new Big Bertha Diablos.

I recently bought a complete set of Nike irons and woods - they are excellent!!

15* Dymo2 3-wood & 23* Sumo2 4H

I highly recommend the square head clubs - which provide more forgiveness than regular clubs.

I know discussion of nike is off-topic, but I think it might help to consider them!

For some reason I cannot hit my Callaway Hybrid to save my life. But my Ping Hybrid is probably the best club I have in my bag. My 3 wood is also outstanding for me.

If you're looking for something different I'd say try the Cobra Speed LD 3/5 wood they're very under rated. I love them. The 5 wood is great in the rough and the 3 wood is very forgiving.
