I've not played Rosewood ( http://www.rosewoodgolfcourse.com/ - their official site).

But my dad lives near http://www.peninsulagolf.com/ , so I play there when I visit. Pretty open course, but has some crazy sloped holes. Also http://www.highpointgolfclubky.com/ is nice, but their website is under construction.

In Northern KY we used to play http://www.kentoncounty.org/county_d.../golf_courses/ quite a bit (we use to live very close to it. Fox Run is a beautiful challenging course.

I assume you've played Lakeside and Tates Creek there in Lexington too. Those are both fairly decent if memory serves correctly.

Happy Hunting!

If you can't lead 'em with a stick, beat 'em with a carrot!

In the Monza Featherweight:
r7 460 TP
r7 TP Fairway Woods (3 & 5) r7 TP irons (3-aw) RAC Chrome 56° & xFT TP 60° wedges White Hot XG Sabertooth putterBoring, I know, but why stray when you like what you've got?

Yeah, Peninsula isn't bad. Played it a few times. You have to catch it at the right time of the year or else the bermuda fairways are brown and hard.

I've heard good things about Fox Run and would like to play it at some point. Was at a wedding this past weekend at Stonelick Hills and it seemed extremely nice. Yes, I've played Lakeside and Tates Creek but don't really care for them. They'd be more like last resort if I can't get a tee time anywhere else. I played them both in the Lexington City Championship a couple weeks ago and they were both in pretty good shape, but for another 10-15 bucks you can play nicer courses in this area.

What do you think about the state park courses? I live in Somerset, and we have a state course that was completely renovated 2 years ago. It's a great course, a little on the short side, but fun to play. I've played Wasioto Winds and Dale Hollow, as well. Both nice, but Dale Hollow is worth driving to Burkesville to play.

Only state park course I've played is Hidden Cove in Grayson and it's a very nice course not to mention tough. I think the tips play to about 7000 or so which for me isn't extremely long BUT it seems like every hole there plays uphill so it plays much longer than that. I didn't play too well when we played it but I would definitely recommend it and wouldn't mind another crack at it myself.

If you ever get the chance, the park at Dale Hollow in Burkesville is tough but beautiful...

    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
