Callaway X-22 is what I would get.

I 2nd the notion to check out the Callaway's. Try them all X18's, X20's, and X22's. I bought the 18's and kill these clubs... best decision I made in 10 years (how long I was playing my ping ISI's)

The 52's are not blades.

I was just going to point that out.

The 52's are dual muscle backed forged clubs, but not blades. They differ from the traditional muscle backs in that the have two bars on the back instead of one with a milled cavity pocket on the irons from 3 to 7. Blades on the other hand have the traditional head design with no pockets or cavities. Like the MP14, 32, 33, 67 and the new 68.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

For me, it depends.

How dedicated are you to improving?

If you are a casual golfer, play 10 times a year at most... then sure get some max game improvement callaways.

If you want to improve your fundamental swing and consistency, I'd say get less forgiving clubs.

I'm not saying everyone has to play blades. However, I firmly believe in bad habits forming from playing with duffer clubs.

Less forgiving clubs provide instant feedback on your swing. If you mishit a ball you will feel more of the clubface on your hand, and after a while you will be able to identify if a ball was hit inside, center or outside without even looking at the club.

If you have knowledge of you swing, this feedback can help you identify and potentially correct swing flaws on a particular day for example.

That's just my personal preference.

I play mp 67s. They are great, long. The feel, while very proactive, is not the same as my old mp 29s that were stolen (burn in hell thief).

When I was playing less I picked up some cobra carbon cb irons. Those are cast but with some feel and workability. Was a mistake for me to play with such easy clubs. I lost distance and accuracy because my swing became lazy.

I have been reading this thread and am in the same boat. I do end up playing at least 30 times a year I have some Nike NDS that are good but I want to get something to make me fix my swing. I really like the looks of the Bridgestone J36 with the pocket cavity. If anyone has any time swinging these and can give me some feedback that would be great.

Check out the Nike Victory Red Split Cavities, I think you might like them.

You don't need new clubs to fix your swing. You need to want to fix your swing. You need some lessons and practice. Clubs won't make you fix your swing.

this might sound like a joke... but if you can find them any of the ping irons except the ISIs the ISI's are garbage... you don't need new clubs to fix your swing... but sometimes to fix your swing you have to have your clubs properly fit... I don't recommend anything longer than a 5-iron for a 90s shooter... But that's just me... and the MP-52s are good clubs too... I tried them out not to long ago... if you have any other questions... I'm a fitter so pm me for anything else
