I play one and I hit it good but dont let the adjustable weight be the factor in purchasing this driver (theres always lead tape) get what looks good and feels good Im a firm believer that the driver is 95% shaft any way and its most important to get fit for the proper shaft using a launch moniter

Whats in the old Ping bag:

It's no different than anyother type of tp club. All of your off center shots will lose a lot of distance and accuracy. The movable weight system is neat but what happens if you set it up to fight your hook and than have a bad slice all round. I just think the weights would make me over think too much.

Yeah but I think they were talking about the "standard" model.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll probably give it a shot and hit some balls on the launch monitor with it to see if I like it.

Besides MWT, are there any other key factors you're looking for? Open, neutral, closed, brand, etc... I'm really just curious, and if you can get the R7 Limited TP for that good of a price, I say go for it, especially if you try it on the launch monitor and like it. If you have a change of heart after you buy it, you can always turn around and sell it, and get close to what you paid for it.

I was looking for a neutral, or 1 degree open...which is why I was leaning towards the TP version. My driver was so good today I just can't get rid of it - I bounced back and hit 11/14 fairways and shot an 81 on a pretty tough golf course.

I certainly appreciate all the comments though to help me learn more about this club. If I consistently struggle with my driver in the future, I will look into this club for sure. Thanks again.

I upgraded from the R7 460 to the R7 Limited this season and it has been wonderful to me. I played with the stock Matrix 5.5 stiff shaft for a bit but it was way too spinny for me. I put in a Proforce V2 and I've been hitting it better than ever.

Also, the price for these are very reasonable now too. 5 stars from me!

How hard is it to put a new shaft in? How much did labor cost and the shaft? Is there a risk of damaging the club?

Did you sell your old shaft? If so for how much? Thanks!

I got the R7 CGB Max Limited and was fighting a bad slice that came and went. I set up the club with the max weight to promote a draw, and this club is 1* open as compared to my old closed face draw bias Sumo. I hit everything dead straight or with a slight draw now. I've played with the weights and it is quite amazing how much they make a difference. Just by going to a lighter weight I started hitting fades that were pretty consistent. Moving the heavy weight to the Fade side, I was hitting some ugly fades and worse slices. I like this option because as I work on my swing I get bring the club back to a more standard weighting, but on game day, I can feel sure that I know where the ball is heading.

The TP is less forgiving and more workable while the r7 Limited is more for the fairly skilled player. I tested both the r7 Limited and the R9 and didn't see much difference between the two apart from the fact that the Limited flies higher than the R9. The movable weights is also a nice touch to finish a great product if you can get over the triangular shape of the head.
