I can NOT stand to watch John Daly piss his talent away any longer. I have been a fan of his since the glory days of Crooked Stick and St. Andrews, and now I hope he never gets invited to another professional event. The guy sucks us in with the "aww, shucks" and his "frailties", but I have come to realize he is:
1. supremely talented,
2. as lazy as you can be and still breathe, and
3. a crybaby who walks it in when things don't go his way. This guy can not get it together even though he's working with some of the best people in the business. The sponsors that continue to give him invitations to play in professional golf events should get wise and give the spot to someone who actually cares. Sorry, I'm tired of his act. Nice four-putt on 18!

First off, I know that there is already a thread about this out there but after watching JD's EXTREMELY poor effort at the PGA, I feel that it warrants another thread.

A couple weeks back Iacas started a thread about his disgust with JD and I felt that it was a bit much. Well it turns out that I was wrong and Iacas was completely correct. Up until now I would have defended him no matter what, but after seeing his gruesome display of carelessness I believe that he is a lost cause. At this point the golf course is the last place that he needs to be. (Especially the PGA Championship).

Sorry for the rant.

Two threads hammering on JD. Things aren't good. He's like a runaway train....all out of control!

Yeah, I hope that he really evaluates himself, his game, and his lifestyle before he comes back.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks this way about him.

I still like Daly. I find him humerous and I think others find humor in the way he acts towards things...I still enjoy watching him play.

I wish he'd reconsider his wardrobe, though.

I know this is probably going to get merged because there's two other threads, but I have to say this - John Daly is a piece of sh*t for quitting after his round today - if he didn't think he could compete, he shouldn't have even showed up. I'm sure Michael Letzig (first alternate) would have played a lot better and not walked out like a pu$$y.

He pulls out after tweaking his back? Man, F that. If you're hurt, don't play, and give one of the alternates a shot. If you can't handle a little pain, be a man about it and don't enter the tournament.

If your clothes came with a free bowl of soup, would you reconsider?

Yeah I feel pretty much the same way. Everyone knows it wasn't because of his back, its because he gave up on himself. Its obvious that he's in no condition to play golf. He only gets 600 calories a day supposedly, but that is no excuse to go out there and play like that. If you have health problems that will effect your play then you need to STAY home.

Dude if you saw him play today then there would be no way that you could say that you enjoy watching him play. Saying you liked watching him play today would be like saying you like watching vicious car wrecks. (But maybe you're into that kinda thing) lol jk

No, I didn't see him play today. I taped today's coverage as I was out practicing myself, lol.

But when he's playing good (and there were some tourney's over in Europe he played pretty decent in) I still enjoy watching the guy play golf. He gets over dramatic sometimes and annoying, but at least he has some personality, can be humerous, and sticks to his character and is himself. I can respect him for that.

    • Day 37: did my drill swings in the garage with foam balls for about 15 minutes. Working on getting my backswing more turned and then going from there.
    • Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.
    • Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂
    • I need to drop a couple of stone. 🙂 😛    Yep. Yeah, but in the end, it feels more athletic, like you're actually using your legs, yeah? As you know… we use the best available info we have. Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
