I'm a little excited today so you will have to excuse me. Our course has two championships, a stroke play event and a match play event. I was on vacation this summer for the stroke play championship and didn't get to participate. I've been playing in my club match play championship and I was paired with the stroke play club champion today. As Ali would say, "I dropped him like a bad habit"!!! The turning point of the match came early on #3. We both missed the green and he had a simple chip up the hill and I was just over the green with a severly down hill sidewinding chip. He hit a decent chip to 4 feet past the pin. I flubbed my chip down the hill and had a fast breaking downhill putt of about 18 feet from the fringe. I make and he missed, that was huge. Then the next hole I was away on the approach and hit a nice shot in there about 6 feet. He stakes it to about 18 inches from the hole. I make my putt and you could just see the air come out of his tires!

I still have one more match to get to the finals so still a long way to go, but I haven't been this focused in a long time, it feel great!

Congrats! I barely squeaked by the quarterfinals match, all square going into 18, and it took my opponent 2 hybrids into the creek and a stubbed 18 inch putt for me to win.

Semis were yesterday and I knocked him out 7 and 5.

Good putting seems to demoralize the other person, so WAY TO GO!!!

Good luck on the semis - jump on him early and don't let go!
