Anyone know of a glove that lasts? I have some winter gloves that have lasted forever, but all the "normal" leather gloves only last me around 4 or 5 rounds before getting gross. I'm thinking leather in general isn't very good for the long term.

I use the footjoy weathersoft, for some reason the synthetic leather really never bothered me and it always lasts longer for me than a cabretta Titleist (which was my glove of choice for a while)

greenail,

Rotation is the key to long glove life. Buy three to four pairs and rotate through them every hole at least. That way they have time to dry and don't get as abraded as quickly. That or don't wear a glove!

I like the Footjoy Dry ICE combo glove... leather in the palm and fingers, synthetic on the back. They're sold in two-packs, and as gas_can suggests, I rotate them, usually every two holes. They still wear down as any glove would in the summertime, but they're a solid value. Plus, they don't have the annoying magnetic FJ ball marker. I have yet to succesfully make it through a round without losing one, and the glove just looks silly with a piece of metal where the FJ should be.

PS... I use Golf Pride full-cords, so I go through gloves pretty regularly. Your mileage may vary if you use a softer synthetic grip.

I save leather gloves for the course and practice using synthetic, unless it is raining. The sweat seems to kill the leather ones, hand washing seems to keep them in better shape, but since I usually don't buy expensive gloves, I am lazy and don't.

I use an all-natural glove. It's called "skin" and it works really well, especially if you apply sunscreen to the back (not the grip side).

    • Thanks for the reply. I downloaded a software update and can now measure swing speed without a ball. Without a ball and with an all out effort, I can get over 100mph swing speed. But as soon as I put a ball in front of me, I tense up and the swing speed is back to low 90's. More work to be done!  I am also excited to tweak everything to see if I can improve smash factor.

    • Kind of reminds me of my first driver - a TM R580 at a whopping 400cc.  Still have one in the stable - and like to hit it on occasion.  Makes me wonder if the Mini-drivers of today are a testing ground to drivers of tomorrow of the powers that be opt to roll back driver head size in conjunction to the ball roll back to limit the overall distance.  I’ve not done a lot of research on shot distances between the mini and regular drivers, but figured there is some.  Will be something to follow as the mini-driver unfolds.
